          File consists of notes regarding the case of Chambers vs. Chambers, 1860. The agreement between father and son was that Thomas was to only have the farm for two years. He paid nothing for the farm. Thomas' brothers, George and James challenged his claim and that they were the ones responsible for improving the property. George and James claimed that Thomas was only to hold the deed for two years.

          Series consists of records created and accumulated by Marilou McPhedran pertaining to the organization and functions of the Charter of Rights Education Fund, which was created to review Ontario legislation for sex discrimination and to ensure compliance with the Charter of Rights and Freedoms. These records document the activities of the fund's committee (including fundraising), its financial resources, Charter Study Days, and audits of government statutes. McPhedran was a co-founder of the fund and member of the finance committee in 1982 and 1983. The files in this series consist of correspondence, grant applications, reports, notes, memoranda, agendas, minutes, and financial statements.

          The fonds consists of material of Dennis Charles Hefferon relating to the Law Society of Upper Canada's Special Committee on Legal Education, which includes briefs from teachers, students and practitioners, background research materials, minutes of meetings, correspondence, and a draft copy of the final report, 1970-1972. There is also material from the Osgoode Law School Faculty Council, including agendas (1959-1966) and minutes (1964-1971), memoranda, the Dean's Annual Report (1962-1966) and reports of committees. The fonds includes records of; the Academic Policy Committee, including curriculum evaluations; the Admissions Committee; the Constitutional Committee; the Committee on Faculty Administration; the Special Committee on Future Enrolment; and the Special Committee on Organization and Function of the Faculty Council. There are also papers relating to the affiliation of Osgoode with York University, including reports on the affiliation, building plans, committee reports, statements on programme, enrolment and facility requirements of the Law School, and related material.

          These records relate to the establishment and first years of operation of the Women's Studies program at Lakehead University. After a proposal in 1988, the first classes ran in the 1990-1991 academic year. The program developed quickly, with more courses added and cross-listed, and Women's Studies was granted status as a Department in 2002.

          The records, most of which date 1990-1996, include minutes of the Women's Studies Advisory Committee, and correspondence about the program and its courses. Some files also relate to fundraising, and local events and issues.
