History
Kydd Memorial Presbyterian Church, Montreal was established in 1925 following Church Union. The congregation initially called itself Rosemount Presbyterian Church. Services were held at the Salvation Army and in a hall at 3178 Masson Street until a new church building was built and dedicated in 1929. The church was named Kydd Memorial after the family who provided land and considerable sums of money for the building project. The Rev. Kenneth C. MacLennan was the first inducted minister. In 1951, the congregation became self-supporting. The congregation of Fairmount-Taylor Presbyterian Church was fully amalgamated with Kydd in 1969. The congregation of Kydd Memorial Presbyterian Church was dissolved on May 31, 1982.
