History
The Keep Active Retirement Home was the project of a group of Mississauga citizens looking for alternatives to institutional living. The project was based on the notion that an active lifestyle offset the detrimental effects of aging, and that a residence that promoted an active lifestyle for seniors was a necessary service. While the project raised funds, and attempted on more than one occasion to secure financing for a building in Mississauga, their efforts were not successful. The home was never built and K.A.R.H. ceased to exist as a corporation in 1987.
