    Administrative history

Kanados Lietuvių Bendruomenės (KLB) St. Catharines Apylinkė (Lithuanian Canadian Community St. Catharines Chapter) was the regional chapter of the Lithuanian Canadian Community (LCC) for Lithuanians living in St. Catharines, Ontario. On 1948-6-26, Lithuanians living in St. Catharines formed a chapter of the Kanados Lietuvių Taryba (Lithuanian Council of Canada). At a general meeting on 1949-6-4, St. Catharines’ Lithuanians voted that they had become a chapter of the Kanados Lietuvių Sąjunga or KLS (Lithuanian Association of Canada) by virtue of having sent representatives to the KLS’s founding meeting in Montreal in March of 1949. The Apylinkės Laikinasis Organizacinis Komitetas or ALOK (Provisional Chapter Organizing Committee) for St. Catharines was formed 1950-3-11 and it oversaw the formation of the LCC chapter and the election of the chapter’s first executive (apylinkės valdyba) on 1950-4-1. The St. Catharines chapter has hosted Kanados Lietuvių Dienos (Lithuanian Canadian Days) in 1957 (in Niagara Falls with the LCC Welland chapter), 1965, 1971 and 1979. By 2009, the LCC chapter in St. Catharines was essentially no longer active.
