Jonathan Sissons (fl. 1871-1872) was a farmer on the south half of Lot 16, Concession 1 of Vespra Township, Ontario.

Fonds consists of a typescript copy of the diary of Jonathan Sissons. Diary entries relate to: farming activities, such as fertilizing, ploughing, draining, constructing fences, caring for animals, haying, and threshing; road work; logging; travels to Barrie for errands; agricultural meetings and fairs; political meetings to organize a reform convention and to elect candidates; local events, particularly fires; social visits; and church activities such as prayer meetings and Bible passages read at sermons. Fonds also contains notes on the diary by his son, Professor C.B. Sissons.
