Custodial history

Scope and content

Fonds consists of the history of the Canadian Army Operation Research Establishment (CAORE) from its adoption in 1943 through its 15-year existence. The two-volume history was published in 1970 as report No. 15 of the Defence Research Analysis Establishment. Mayne focused on CAORE’s history and programs, including the program of war games. The first volume covers the history of both Operational Research (OR) and CAORE. The second volume has detailed lists of CAORE personnel and programs in annexes and appendices. Mayne also noted the key contributors to CAORE and detailed their accomplishments, as well as the overall accomplishments of the CAORE program.
