Biographical history

Jim Tester (d. 1994) was employed by Falconbridge Nickel Mines in Sudbury, Ontario for nearly 25 years, retiring ca. 1975.

Custodial history

Scope and content

The collection consists of interviews conducted by Tester between 1975 and 1985, relating to the history and development of the labour movement and of mining in the Sudbury area. Many of the interviewees were members of the International Union of Mine, Mill and Smelter Workers, Local 598. The collection also includes a lecture given by Tester on the history of the labour movement in Sudbury.
