In 1911 Joseph T. Lemon and his son Victor Earl Lemon opened a general store on Graham Street in West Lorne, Ontario under the name J.T. Lemon and Son. V.E. Lemon served overseas in the First World War from 1916 to 1918, but returned in 1919 to operate the general store in West Lorne, selling dry goods, clothing and groceries. Ca. 1964 V.E. In January 1979 V.E. Lemon sold the business to Harry and Ria Van Dyk, but continued to operate the store until April 1979.
