Administrative history

The Task Force was appointed by TGH Executive Director J.A. McNab and held its first meeting August 23, 1973. Its purpose was to investigate means of coordinating the activities of the various clinical social service divisions at the Hospital to promote better patient care and realize budgetary savings through greater efficiency in the delivery of social services. The Task Force was chaired by Dr. Robert Pos, TGH Psychiatrist-in-Chief, with representation from the Department of Rehabilitation and Physical Medicine, the Social Service Department, the Chaplaincy, the Nursing Department, and the Department of Psychology. The Task Force produced an interim report in January 1974 and submitted its final report in May 1974, at which time it was dissolved.
