Helen Marryat fonds

Fonds consists of records related mostly to Helen Marryat's (nee Fowlds) personal experiences as a nurse in World War I and her activities as a local historian. There are clippings of her articles in local newspapers, historical maps (drawn by Gerald Marryat) and other materials relating to settlement of Hastings and district such as education and nursing. Also included are the correspondence and photograph collections of her brothers, Donald and Eric (mostly from World War I), and material on Frederick Marryat (1792-1848), navy captain and novelist. In December 2001, Trent University Archives launched an online exhibit which depicts Helen Fowld's experiences in World War I.

The fonds consists of the papers and records of the Ontario Camping Association delineating its operation and policies, conferences, special programmes; the Canadian Camping Magazine; and brochures, photographs, newsletters from member camps. The fonds also contains the Ontario Camping Association's newsletter, and some sound and tape recordings of conferences. Financial records are included, but are presently unorganized.

Fonds consists of textual records including articles of clerkship (Sept 19, 1839), indenture (Jan 25, 1851), requisitions and petitions (Feb 2, 1860 - Aug 7, 1863), and correspondence. The fonds also includes transcripts on miscellaneous family historical items and two articles from the Globe, July 6 and 7, 1859, on the Ploughboy incident in Lake Huron.

Fonds consists of correspondence, receipts and other records of Reverend Peter McLaren Duncan, Leonora Duncan, James Duncan, and Annie Duncan. Also included are sermon notes, assessment notices, insurance policies and the marriage register of Colborne Presbyterian Church from 1896 to 1942. The fonds also includes an autograph album of Leonora (Singleton) Duncan, of Brighton, Canada West.

The collection consists of articles and research notes written by Kenneth Roberts and Philip Shackleton who, together, wrote a canoe history entitled "The Canoe." Also included are photographs for "The Canoe" and correspondence regarding the museum; Kirk Wipper's collection of canoe related articles and correspondence and minutes of the Kanawa and Trent/Kanawa Boards of Directors; and the records and correspondence which were collected by Michael Ketemer, former Haliburton site manager of the Canadian Canoe Museum.

Gibson general store in Lindsay, Ontario; and four diaries, dated May 1898-July 1906, in which Gibson records financial transactions relating to produce sales, and the chores performed daily by himself and his family. Also included is one additional diary, dated 1910-1914, in which chores and events on the farm are recorded.

Pauline Johnson fonds

Fonds consists of numerous notes and correspondence of Evelyn Johnson pertaining to her sister Pauline, to family history, and to the affairs of the Six Nations Indian Reserve. There are also newspaper clippings dated 1881 to 1936 about Pauline Johnson and native issues of the period. Also included are poems written by and collected by Pauline Johnson, correspondence of Pauline, G.M. Ferguson, Chief G.H.M. Johnson and Allan Johnson.
