File consists of correspondence between Tom Long and W. Arnott Craick, author of "Little Tales of Old Port Hope" from 1964-1966. During this time Peter Schulz of the Port Hope Guide wished to reprint the book. Correspondence concerns the reprinting, receiving permission for reprinting and photograph sources.

Item is a Christmas card showing the Port Hope Historical Centre, formerly the fire hall on Walton Street. Photograph taken from the Ganaraska River looking north. The card is not used.

Item is a programme for memorial service held in Port Hope on Saturday 2 Feb 1901 the same day as the funeral for Queen Victoria in England. the service was held at the Methodist Church (later Port Hope United). Outline of service includes hymns, readings, solos and names of participating local clergy.

File consists of the plans for the Eastview Heights Subdivision, Part Lots 5 & 6 and part of the road allowance between Lots 6 & 7, Con 2, Township of Hope. Key on left side give dimensions of lots. Copy was registered with the Registry Office on 9 Jan 1969; and Proposed Longview Plan of subdivision owned by Port Hope Development Company Limited. Eastview Heights is Part of Lots 5 & 6, and part of the road allowance between Lots 6 & 7, Con 2, Township of Hope. Area is now part of the town of Port Hope. Topographic and rough plan of subdivision. Removed from "Port Hope Dev. Co. - Eastview" file, Long Cabinets.

Item is a brochure on Cranberry Heights and Pinegrove Subdivisions. Exclusive agents for the subdivision were Long Bros. Insurance and Real Estate with offices in Cobourg, Port Hope and Colborne. Pamphlet includes map with street names in subdivision. Removed from Long Cabinets "Cranberry Heights" file.

Item is a pamphlet on the history of the Moorish United Church, 1865-1965. Includes history on the district 1834-1865, history of the Sunday school 1865-1900, Cradle Roll, Sunday School and Church officers. Removed from Long Cabinets "United Church" file.

File consists of an information booklet on the Port Hope Lawn Bowling Club in 1990. Includes brief history and photographs. Removed from Long Cabinets "Sports Teams" file.

Item is a 30th Anniversary Programme created for the Beaver Athletic Association (BAA) by Dave Doherty. Dave has signed the booklet to Tom on the front cover. Programme reviews the history of the BAA in Port Hope and was released during the Young Canada Day Weekend February 8-9, 1980. Primarily a photographic history of the BAA, most of the photographs have been identified. Also contains local advertising. Removed from Long Cabinets "Sports Teams."

File consists of a letter to the Rev. C. H. Boulden, Rector, St. Mark's Church, Port Hope from the Right Honourable Vincent Massey, 5 Feb 1952. The letter is in response to a letter of congratulations received by Vincent Massey from the congregation of St. Mark's Church. Signed by Vincent Massey. This letter is reproduced on page 89 of "Time Was." Details for the reproduction are written on the back of the letter. Also, "Ceremony of the Trooping of the Colour by the Governor-General's Foot Guards" 1 Jul 1954.

File consists of two (2) copies of "A Community Service of Thanksgiving to Almighty God V-J Day" at the Cenotaph Central Park, Port Hope. Both feature "1945" written on front.

File consists of (1) Anniversary issue of Blue & White, the Port Hope High School newsletter. Issue includes information on the school, crest, history, memories, photographs of principals and photographs of different buildings used for the high school since 1853, Valedictorians, Staff, Student Council and school song; and (2) Programme for the 25th class reunion 1956-1982, Port Hope High School.

Item is a map of property owned by John Smart on Walton Street. Railway shown on map was to be part of the Peterborough - Port Hope Railway, later Midland Railway.

Item is a cookbook entitled "The Mixing Bowl." It was printed in 1931 as a fundraiser for St. Paul's Presbyterian Church. The booklet is 40 pages long and contains recipes and advertising from local Port Hope businesses.

File consists of an essay written by H. R. S. Ryan on the 100th anniversary of the Baldwin Act. The essay was published in "Ontario History" in 1950 under the title "Echoes from the Minute books: Notes on the proceedings of the Board of police of Port Hope, 1834-1849" pages 184-204. The essay details early history of the town and its residents. Footnotes are given to document sources. It also includes the original transcript of the essay by H. R. S. Ryan.
