File · [ca. 1895]-[ca. 1915]
Part of Region of Peel Archives photography collection

File consists of 21 photographs and 1 illustration on 11 double-sided pages, disassembled before donation. Images are primarily of Caledon and Albion Township locations, but is believed to include images of Kleinberg and Weston, the communities that the late-donor’s mother lived in. The family lived in Peel no longer than 1898 to 1907.

The album contains photographs of the Caledon and Albion Townships area and beyond: the mill now known as the Millcroft Inn; Alton Public School; a view of Alton from the Pinnacle; family members at a house; the Alton Presbyterian church; the Melville Junction train station; the Alton train station; an unidentified dam; railway bridges; Weston; and the Humber River.

Donor’s wife was the daughter of Olive Lavina Campbell (1908-1995) and Peter John (Jack) McArthur. Campbell was daughter of William E. Campbell (1866-1952) and Elizabeth Beare. Campbell was son of Robert Campbell and Sarah Beare. It is believed that Robert and Sarah are the eldest individuals in one of the photographs, placing the image in Weston.
