This fonds contains case files, reports, doctrines, treaties, charters, bills, papers, certificates, journals, lectures, addresses and speeches, personal papers, correspondence and scrapbooks from the personal and professional life of David Mills: teacher, office holder, farmer, lawyer, politician, journalist, author and judge.

Fonds consists of records that reflect the functions and activities of Council as a legislative and regulatory body in legal matters, taxation, justice and public protection, education, public health and welfare, finance, public accountability and planning. Records include, but are not limited to: working papers, minutes and resolutions, by-laws, reports to Council, and Court of Revision Records. The fonds chronicles Council activities and functions, and documents decisions and deliberations, and relationship with the civic administration, the Province of Ontario, the County of York, the Village of Woodbridge before 1971, and the Regional Municipality of York after 1971.

The Graeme Mount fonds attests to Mount’s different activities and achievements as a professor in the Laurentian University history department, as a researcher, and as a member of the Laurentian Unviersity community. Many files concern his teaching activities: notes and texts for courses taught, field trips with students and colleagues, and travel logs are amongst the many teaching and research activities that are well documented. The fonds also contains many photographs taken on his travels. These include photos of a trip to South Korea in 1999 with Laurentian faculty members, as well as photos taken in Chile and published in one of his books. Finally the fonds contains many research notes including copies of Consulate correspondence (originally created 1910-1935) from the Department of State; files concerning the Ku Klux Klan; records from the closure of the Consular Agency in Sudbury as well as American Tourism via Sault Ste. Marie, World War I, economic matters and prohibition in the 1920's. Copies of archives from Monaco dating from 1838-1868 are also included.

Most of Mount’s articles, papers, and reports on Latin America’s politics are also contained in the fonds. Recent acquisitions include documents on the history of Northern Ontario, and 6 photographs recording when a CPR train derailed and freight cars fell in the Wanapitae River in 2013.

Collection contains a variety of maps, plans, and drawings pertaining to the Town and Township of Whitby. Maps have been physically arranged according to map type, including Street and Tourism, Physical, Political, Transit, Historical, and Architectural Drawings.

This fonds consists mostly of letters and other material created and accumulated by Douglas Alkenbrack during his political career as a Progressive-Conservative back-bencher in the House of Commons from 1962 until 1979. There are a few items which pre-date 1962, mostly local history, his interest in Second Depot Dam, and his poetry. Mr. Alkenbrack's major federal concerns were the bilingualism and biculturalism issue (the "Bi and Bi Commission"); Canadian citizenship; capital punishment; gun control and pensions. Fonds consists of Lindstrom's professorial and scholarly research files throughout her career, as well as records documenting her academic activities. Research files pertain to her publications and monographs such as "Defiant Sisters : A Social History of Finnish Immigrant Women in Canada, 1890-1930" (both the English and Finnish editions), and "From Heroes to Enemies : Finns in Canada, 1937-1947," as well as book chapters, articles, papers, presentations and lectures, and her involvement with the National Film Board production "Letters from Karelia," and subsequent research. The research files span the activities of Finnish and Finnish-Canadian organizations across the political spectrum, such as the Finnish Organization of Canada (left wing), and Loyal Finns in Canada (right wing). Records include oral history interviews (audio cassettes and transcripts), research notes, clippings, a significant and extensive number of photograph and letter collections passed down through generations of Finnish Canadians, diaries, correspondence, publication drafts, academic and professorial notes, microfilm of Finnish language newspapers published in Canada and archival records, financial records of Finnish-Canadian organizations such as newspapers and post-World War II relief funding bodies, scrapbooks, photocopies of rare and unusual documents such as two volumes of a Soviet register of Finnish War Crimes, a list of persons found in the mass grave at Karhumaki, and Soviet lists of North American Finns who journeyed to Karelia to help build a socialist utopia there, academic and professorial files, publicity files, files pertaining to her work with the School of Women's Studies, and her own papers as a university student. The fonds also includes letters written by Lindstrom as a newly-arrived teenaged immigrant to Canada to her best friend in Finland; many of these letters were published in Finnish with English translation in 'Letters from an immigrant teenager' in 2012.
