The Rod Crombie fonds consists of 4 16 mm film reels of raw footage shot by Rod Crombie in 1976 for the use in an episode of INCO Presents about Dr. Paul Field. He filmed a open heart surgery performed by Dr. Paul Field at the Memorial hospital in Sudbury, Ontario. Dr. Paul Field was a pioneer in the field of heart surgery and performed one of the world’s first coronary artery bypass graft surgeries. Margie Lockhart hosted the episode on INCO Presents and invited Dr. David Field to the studio to discuss his work and portions of the this footage.

Daily updates relate to the hospital's readiness and operations, and testing and detection of COVID-19 in the Thunder Bay region. The records include text updates and video interviews with hospital leadership and others.

Marshall Blanchard Dean was an early physician in Fort William; his son Marshall Macdougall Dean had a career with the Canadian Coast Guard and a lifelong interest in history and genealogy. Collection includes correspondence, photographs, and research materials.

Fonds consists of records created and accumulated by Marilou McPhedran through her activities as a lawyer, legal reformer, and activist. These records illustrate the breadth and variety of McPhedran's work in the areas of constitutional reform, women's international and national rights, women's health, and violence against women and children. Included in the fonds are administrative records of a number of non-profit organizations and committees of which she was a founder, including the Women's Legal Education Action Fund, the Gerstein Centre, the Metropolitan Action Committee on Violence against Women and Children, and the Ad Hoc Committee of Canadian Women on the Constitution. This fonds attests to the activities and involvement of the Sudbury and District Ministerial Association (SDMA) in the community. The fonds contains their constitution, minutes and related papers, general correspondence, cash books, reports, pamphlets and mailing lists. The records are directly related to the organization of SDMA.

More specifically, this fonds documents the social and educational involvement of an organization of Protestant churches in the Sudbury region. The cooperation of SDMA with several community-based organizations, as well as the participation of SDMA with regard to inter-church activities, is well documented. SDMA was involved in activities in the community such as: radio and television broadcasts of Sunday services, a nursing school at Memorial Hospital, help for addiction and alcoholism, an emergency counselling service, religious education, a Northern Ontario home for unwed mothers, helping the families of strikers, weekly services at Pioneer Manor and the Sudbury Sanatorium, and submitting a report to the Royal Commission on Bilingualism and Biculturalism.

There are no documents for the year 1960, and very few documents for the years 1955 and 1959.

Fonds consists of minutes from various hospital committees, correspondence, administrative and research reports, memorandums, publicity photographs, and reports and architectural drawings regarding hospital planning and construction. Records relate to the administrative, teaching and research activities of the various divisions of the hospital. Fonds is arranged into two sousfonds and five series:

The Grace Hospital ephemera collection is an assembly of material in various formats that have been accumulated by the UHN Archives from a variety of disparate sources including, but not limited to, family members of former staff or students, other repositories, or anonymous donations. Collection consists of photographs and objects. Material in the collection relates to the history of the Grace Hospital and its predecessor, the Toronto Homeopathic Hospital, and its staff or students including the Grace Hospital Training School for Nurses. Material is arranged by accession. No particular order has been imposed by the Archivist.

File 1 contains a 1912 graduation photograph from Grace Hospital Training School for Nurses. File 2 contains the nursing graduation pin for Bernice Marie Charters.

Fonds consists of correspondence, position papers, photographs and biographical files created or accumulated by Dr. Cowan during his professional and academic career, as a member of various committees and as a result of his interest in the history of medicine. Fonds includes correspondence and position papers relating to the Princess Margaret Hospital’s relocation and the merger between Toronto General Hospital and Toronto Western Hospital in the 1980s. Fonds also includes correspondence with Dr. O. Harold Warwick, biographical files on key players in the history of cancer care in Ontario including slides from talks given and copies of papers written, and photographs documenting the destruction of the Bell Wing and the construction of the Clinical Services Building at the Toronto General Hospital.

Fonds is comprised of textual documents and photographs pertaining to Jamaican Self-Help (Peterborough). Included are student papers and Jamaican-generated research papers, mission statement, constitution and by-laws, manuals, tributes to John Ganley, Rosemary Ganley lectures, photographs, reports, policies, press clippings, research, correspondence, and papers relating to several partner developmental organizations.

Collection contains day books documenting transactions for Dr. Homer Garfield McLay's medical practice in Aylmer, Ontario. Also includes a draft book, and one day book for Dr. H.G. McLay and McLay Miller.

This series contains records that describe administrative data about the Sisters including their membership in the congregation as well as any occupational roles that they fulfilled in education and healthcare. These files include handwritten lists, typed lists, directory books that list all the Sisters within the congregation and their contact information, and a booklet of Sisters’ feast days and the Necrology for Fall 2011 that lists the most recent deaths within the congregation.

Fonds contains two essays about the history of the hospital and a copy of a letter.

The collection contains photos dating from 1960 and 1961. The photos show nurses, assistant nurses and nuns working at Notre-Dame Hospital in Hearst.
