Marshall Blanchard Dean was an early physician in Fort William; his son Marshall Macdougall Dean had a career with the Canadian Coast Guard and a lifelong interest in history and genealogy. Collection includes correspondence, photographs, and research materials.

Sub-series consists of a very small sample of the minutes of meetings of the Board of Trustees and its various sub-committees.

File 1.3.5 contains minutes of sub-committees to consider practical issues relating to the plans to move the TGH to its College St./University Avenue location: Committee to Consider the Reorganization of the TGH Constitution and Government; Committee to Consider Provisions for Treating Pulmonary Tuberculosis at TGH; Building Committee (re: choosing an architect); and the Committee on the Reorganization of the Medical Staff. File 1.3.6 contains a series of excerpts from the minutes of the Board of Trustees March 1926-April 1930, concerning plans for expansion, the building fund campaign, construction and opening of new buildings.

Sub-series consists of lists of members of the Board of Trustees.

Series consists of policy manuals from The Toronto Hospital, Ontario Cancer Institute/Princess Margaret Hospital, and University Health Network which have been superseded.

Fonds consists of two series of minutes, from the hospital’s Annual General Meetings and Board of Trustees meetings respectively:

The first Annual General Meeting for the University Health Network occurred on September 15th, 1999. Series includes the contents of a binder labeled “Annual General Meeting Minutes Jun 1947-2005”. This binder included minutes of the University Health Network’s Annual General Meetings (1999-2005) as well as the minutes of the Annual Meetings of the Subscribers of its predecessor corporations The Toronto Hospital (1987-1998) and the Toronto General Hospital (1947-1986). The original purpose of these meetings was to elect Trustees. The annual meeting was extended to several meetings in 1947 and 1949 due to a lack of nominations. Minutes from September 17, 1997 are missing. Most minutes are signed originals.

Series consists of printed Annual Reports from UHN Research. There is no printed report for 2007 as the annual report was only published electronically.

Fonds consists of 1 scrapbook of clippings and 4 colour photographs created by staff of the Medical Records Department of the Toronto General Hospital and staff of the Health Records Services of The Toronto Hospital. Clippings and photographs relate to the history of these two predecessor departments of UHN’s Health Records Services.

The Grace Hospital ephemera collection is an assembly of material in various formats that have been accumulated by the UHN Archives from a variety of disparate sources including, but not limited to, family members of former staff or students, other repositories, or anonymous donations. Collection consists of photographs and objects. Material in the collection relates to the history of the Grace Hospital and its predecessor, the Toronto Homeopathic Hospital, and its staff or students including the Grace Hospital Training School for Nurses. Material is arranged by accession. No particular order has been imposed by the Archivist.

File 1 contains a 1912 graduation photograph from Grace Hospital Training School for Nurses. File 2 contains the nursing graduation pin for Bernice Marie Charters.

Fonds is comprised of textual documents and photographs pertaining to Jamaican Self-Help (Peterborough). Included are student papers and Jamaican-generated research papers, mission statement, constitution and by-laws, manuals, tributes to John Ganley, Rosemary Ganley lectures, photographs, reports, policies, press clippings, research, correspondence, and papers relating to several partner developmental organizations.

Series consists of three (3) architectural sketches of the Port Hope & District Hospital built in 1984. It includes: Preliminary sketch - front of the proposed building done in 1981; Patio area / entrance, 1984; Ground Floor plan, first floor plan, elevation section.

It includes: (1) Minutes of the Port Hope & District Hospital & Hospital Trust, 1957-1976; (2) Minutes of the Auxiliary Nursing Staff, 1968-1971; (3) Minutes of various committees - Gift Fund, OR / ER, CSR, Drug Committee, Procedures Committee, Team Leader, Regional Hospital Council, Hospital Ball Committee; (4) Minutes of Supervisors, Head Nurses, 1964-1971; (5) Minutes of the Hospital Auxiliary, 1976-1984; (6) Minutes of Staff Meetings, 1964-1971.

File consists of a diploma received by M. Isabel Jones St. Louis (1897-1987) on 15th October 1919. Diploma is signed by the president, secretary, superintendent and mission of the Port Hope Hospital Training School for nurses, established in 1916. The diploma was presented to the Port Hope and District Hospital as Ms. St. Louis was the last surviving of that graduating class. It hung in the Port Hope & District Hospital until it closed.
