Fonds consists of business papers from the stewardship of W.H. Wilkison 1865-1868, and from the stewardship of Alfred Knight 1893-1901. The papers from the intervening years are missing. The correspondence relates to the management of Cartwright property in the county, as well as a few other business ventures. The fonds consists of two books plus banking records and statements, invoices, a postcard, phone bills and two flyers. Book 1 is an account ledger with name index spanning from 1932-1940. Book 2 is a notebook from 19 March 1940- 18 Sept. 1944. Other records include a statement from Sept. 21, 1936 plus 10 pages from an accounts ledger, no date, possibly recording household goods sold from the Pitman's store; two Canadian Bank of Commerce vinyl folders; seven “Long Distance Service” phone bill statements; two receipts; four loose pages from a petty accounts book; two envelopes; card from “Tuck” to Mrs. J. Churchill, no date; two flyers, one from “Charlinore Kennels” and one from “Director of Annuities”.
The photographs are arranged by subject matter and cover activities in and around the town of Deseronto, Ontario. The majority date from the late nineteenth century and many depict the lumber-related industries of the Rathbun Company in Deseronto. There are also photographs of school groups, churches, railways, First World War airfields and portraits of Deseronto citizens.
Fonds consists of textual and photographic records accumulated by Mr. Harry Moscoe during the 1940 to 1947 period. The majority of these records document Mr. Moscoe's activities as Executive Director of the Canadian Jewish Congress, Eastern Region, War Efforts Committee. A few files also document examples of his personal, financial and legal office activities, while still living in Kirkland Lake and later in Montreal. War Efforts Committee records focus on the CJC's responsibilities for: Servicemen's Centres in Halifax, Montreal, Moncton and St. John, Red Cross blood drives, tracking Jewish officers, Jewish casualties, and regular meetings of the War Efforts Committee. Also here are extensive newspaper clippings documenting Jewish servicemen' activities, casualties, heroics and decorations. Of special note is a 20 x 25 cm b&w photograph within File 18, "Jewish Chaplains". The image features seven uniformed Canadian Jewish chaplains who served during the Second World War. They are: Rabbi Abraham Babb, Rabbi David Monson, Rabbi Oscar Fassman, Rabbi Charles Bender, Rabbi Samuel Cass, Rabbi Jacob Eisen and Rabbi Morrris Casriel Katz.
Fonds consists of records relating to the administration, operation, and activities of the Whitby Dunlops hockey team. Records were created by the executive members of the Whitby Senior Hockey Club. Fonds is comprised of the following series: Financial records, administrative records, correspondence, advertisement and sponsorship, and programs and ephemera.
Fonds consists of papers and photographs from the Long Family Collection. It includes materials created and accumulated by: Alfred H. Long (military publications, letter books), N. Tom Long (local history research files, St. Lawrence Hotel plan, directories, photographs), Geo. Wilson (memoirs, correspondence re: Port Hope Evening Guide, Wilson family photographs), and Brig. The two-volume book details the history of London, Ontario and its surrounding areas, detailing multiple elements such as geography, industry, and community. The fonds contains thirty two series; series 1-9 relate to the administration of the book project proper; series 10-25 relate to the chapters of VOlume 1 of the London Township History Book (one series per chapter).
