This fonds consists of a day book and ledger. The daybook reflects business conducted at the Cunningham General Store in Glamis, Bruce County, Ontario. The book is organized chronologically from July 1, 1896 - February 1899 and lists under each day: customer names, summary of goods purchased and price. Goods included groceries, hardware and textiles. The ledger reflects business conducted at the A.A. Greer General Store (formerly Cunningham General Store) in Glamis, Bruce County, Ontario from 1922-1924, immediately following the purchase of the store by Albert Arthur Greer (married to Laura Cunningham). The book has an alphabetical index at the front. It is organized by customer and lists the dates and details of their purchases, credits and payments from 1922 to 1924. Purchases are often listed as "goods", but the ledger also shows the purchase of specific grocery and hardware items.

Includes three "A.A. Greer General Merchant" receipts. Also includes an invoice to A.A. Greer in account iwth Glamis Garage, 1923.

This fonds consists of the Brant Agricultural Society minute book (1862-1875), containing the minutes of directors' and annual membership meetings, which took place in Walkerton, reflecting the concerns and activities of the Society, as well as lists of competitors in the Brant Agricultural Exhibition / Annual Fall Fair. It also consists of a membership book containing the names and post offices of subscribers / members of the Society from 1868-1896, with information about dues paid. Enclosed in the membership book is "An Act to Further Improve the Agriculture and Arts Act, 1895"

This fonds consists of minute books and financial records created by the Colpoy's Bay Ladies' Aid Society, affiliated with the Colpoy's Bay United Church.

In particular, it consists of 12 volumes of minute books, with membership lists, spanning the periods: 1905-1910, 1916-1918, 1918-1922, 1920-1932, 1922-1923, 1924-1926, 1926-1928, 1932-1938, 1938-1943; 1943-1948, and 1948-1957. Minutes from 1912-191- are included in the back of the Minute Book of the Junior Epworth League of Colpoy's Bay.

The financial records consist of: a Ledger, 1932-1972, and the Ladies' Aid Parsonage Account Book, 1967-1969.

This fonds consists of materials reflecting the concerns, research and activities of Concerned Farm Women from 1981 to 1988.
It consists of administrative records including documents reflecting the group’s aims and objectives, meeting minutes (primarily 1983), membership lists (1983-1988), pamphlets, newsletters (1982-1988), project activity reports, and correspondence. Scrapbooks and folders of newspaper clippings reflect the group’s activities as well as the financial crisis facing farmers in the 1980s. Two videocassettes also review the history and accomplishments of the organization. Correspondence, conference materials and speech scripts reflect the group’s lobbying efforts. Books, reports, articles and promotional material from other agricultural organizations concerning the financial state of agriculture in Ontario and across North America informed the group’s research and activities. Finally, two books published by the group: (1) The Farmer Takes a Wife: a study by Concerned Farm Women, resulting from a 31-page survey of approximately 600 Bruce and Grey County farm women, and (2) To Have and To Hold: a guide to property and credit law for farm families in Ontario” are included in the fonds.

The fonds reflects the interests and activities of the Country Sisters Club and contains records including minutes of the general meetings (1920-1997), membership rolls, a treasurer's book (1953-1954), a book of highlights (1934-1979), and meeting programs, plans and notes (1950s-1990s). The fonds also includes centennial planning booklets, correspondence from the United Farmers of Ontario and the United Farm Women of Ontario (1940s) and thank you cards. This fonds consists of 3 day books created by Donald Cameron within his occupation as storekeeper of a General Store first in Underwood and by September 1893 in Hepworth, Bruce County, Ontario. The day books cover the following time periods: 1886-1890, 1890-1893, and 1897-1899.

This fonds consists of material created and collected by the Gould Lake Ratepayers Association, commencing in 1971. The materials reflect the activities and aim of the Association to protect the lake from pollution and establish guidelines to ensure as much safety on the lake as possible.

This fonds consists of the diaries of James Rowand Burgess and Elizabeth Oliver Burgess between the years of 1911 and 1974. In the diaries, a brief entry is generally made for each day. Topics covered in the diaries include: rural life, weather, social activities (literary meetings, box socials), farm work, house work, chores, high school work and activities, and community involvement. A few references are made to people leaving to serve in the Bruce 160th Battalion and war-time matters such as the fuel controller. The entries make references to friends, families and neighbours.

This fonds consists of John Peirson’s diaries with enclosures, for the years: 1888, 1892-1919, 1921-1925, and 1927. His brief daily journal entries include information related to his family, political life, rural life, personal financial information, social engagements, church meetings, weather and farm operations and activities, including ploughing, sowing and the sale of animals. Mr. Peirson also makes mention of world events, including the sinking of the Titanic and the end of the Great War.

Journals after 1919 each continue to have the name “John Peirson” written on the title page, sometimes with the name of the person who gave the diary to him as a gift; however, most entries in those journals appear to have been written either by John’s daughter-in-law, Catherine (Black) Peirson, and/or his daughter, Mary Ann (Peirson) Hilborn, both of whom were living in houses on the homestead with John. These journals include references to “father” and his health. Other topics include social activities, Women’s Institute meetings, social visits, family life, and some financial information.

Enclosures in the diaries, such as invoices, statements and newspaper clippings, reflect some of the businesses in the community, such as W.A. Gerolamy, grocer; J.W. Chittick Burgoyne General Store; and The Tara Creamery. John Peirson’s involvement with the Burgoyne Cheese Company, and family events reported in the newspaper up to 1937 are also reflected in the enclosures.

This fonds consists of financial records, ships logs and Crown land patents created by and/or belonging to Captain John Spence and his sons, reflecting some of their personal and business dealings.

This fonds consists chiefly of personal correspondence between the family members over five generations (1834 - 1937) from Saugeen Township in Bruce County, Ontario, to England, America, Cuba and wartime France; the personal journals of Nathaniel Leeder and Ed Leeder (1854 - 1904) detailing their experiences in Saugeen Township; and over one hundred years of Leeder family accounts and business transactions in England and Ontario (1830 - 1949). Also included in the fonds are photographs and some miscellaneous personal records pertaining to the family. This fonds consists of 3 day books listing customer names and items purchased each day, with prices, at McInness General Store in Tiverton. The day books cover the following time periods: July 1904 - September 1906; November 1, 1910 - October 5, 1912; and October 10, 1912 - November 20, 1914.

This fonds reflects Dr. Peter S. Schmalz’s career as an educator, researcher and author from the late 1960s to early 2000s. He used these resources in the creation of a Master's Thesis, a Doctoral Thesis, numerous learned articles, several books, and reports for the Ministry of Natural Resources, First Nations communities, the provincial government and federal government. The focus of his research and writing concerned First Nations as well as Town of Walkerton history.

This fonds includes over 700 published books (not including duplicates) which reflect Dr. Schmalz's primary interest in aboriginal contact with Europeans.

The fonds also consists of documents related to the history of the Saugeen Ojibway Nation Territory (Saugeen First Nation and Chippewas of Nawash Unceded First Nation) which reflect the communications and relationship between the First Nations and the Imperial and Canadian governments. These documents consist of photocopied records, many of which were copied from microfilm held by the National Archives of Canada, including material from NAC's reference number RG 10 (parts of the Department of Indian Affairs and Northern Development fonds). Records also include microform, brochures, audiotapes and videotapes, newspapers and clippings, magazines and research cards.

Material in the fonds also reflects the history and experience of First Nations across North America.

The material further reflects Dr. Schmalz’s leadership in education, particularly as it relates to both the education of First Nation students and the education of others about the history of First Nations. Records relate to a co-operative education project, field archaeology and native studies summer course, as well as curriculum created by Peter Schmalz and other education resources.

Dr. Schmalz’s work, activities and interests are also reflected through his correspondence, publications, theses, and essays.

Finally, the fonds consists of articles, maps and original records reflecting Dr. Schmalz’s interest and research concerning the history of the Town of Walkerton and other regional history resources.

This fonds consists of 5 record books kept by Robert B. Hillmer concerning his watchmaking and jewellery business. In the books, Mr. Hillmer recorded watch inventories (1899), as well as job numbers, client name, work requested and price. The fonds also includes a Grand Chapter Royal Arch Masons of Canada certificate appointing Robert Benjamin Hillmer to the office of Grand Superintendent of Huron District No. 6, February 28, 1918.

This fonds consists chiefly of records created and collected by Robert Digby Belcher, in paper and digital form, during the course of his Belcher family genealogy research, which included research concerning the Grafton, Danard, Barnes, and Downing families. Such records include notes, family trees/charts, reference resources, correspondence, newspaper clippings, reproduced maps, reproduced vital statistic and land records, A.E. Belcher poetry, Southampton postcards and records reflecting Southampton history. Family photographs, in paper and digital form, including photographs of the families of Col. A.E.
