Part of Townline Community Club

This series contains programs from the Townline Community Club dating between 1955 and 1963. These programs show the yearly schedule of events that the Club was putting on between the months of November and April, which was their active season. Events were not held every week, but at somewhat irregular intervals. The programs show a wide variety of events, including card and crokinole nights, Scotch and Irish Nights, Dinners, Potlucks, Dances and Debate Nights. The programs also indicate which members (mostly married couples) were in charge of organizing each different event. Series is arranged chronologically.

Fonds consists primarily of annual packages and reports of the Waterloo County/Regional Health Unit. The packages contain minutes of meetings, payment vouchers, reports from the medical director, nursing division, sanitation division and treasurer, as well as budgets and staff pay lists. Other records consist of assorted employee and financial records. This series consists of newspapers saved by the Ayr Public Library during the Second World War. The newspapers were saved by staff likely for their great historical interest. The full newspapers are either from the beginning of the War in September of 1939, or from the surrender of Germany in May of 1945. The newspapers themselves include the Globe and Mail, the Evening Telegram and the Kitchener Record. There are also several newspaper clippings dealing with the early part of the War. This series consists of records relating to the visitors of the Ayr Public Library. The series contains a ledger with an alphabetical listing of the residents of Ayr in 1947, so that they could keep track of who was eligible to borrow books. There is also a guest book showing comments from visitors to the Library's new building and a list of the donors who assisting in the creation of the new building.

Part of Ayr Travel Club

This series consists of letters addressed to the members of the Ayr Travel Club by Britions who had received food packages from the Club. After the Second World War, Britain remained under heavy rationing. To help allieviate the limited diets of the British, the United Emergency Fund for Britain was established, which allowed Canadians to send food parcels to British families. As the Ayr Travel Club sent packages to several different families, there are responses from several different persons. Most correspondence was exchanged by Air Mail. The series is arranged chronologically.

This series consists of the Treasurer's Reports of the Ayr Women's Hospital Aid Association for the years between 1927 and 1956 in book form.

The first book, a small black notebook, contains records from 1927 to 1939, dealing with annual expenditure and revenues, but also a list of who has paid membership fees, and some preparatory work for the Association's annual reports and drafts of the minutes. Each year generally has two pages for the membership list, followed by a pair of pages with revenue on the left facing page and expenditure on the right. After the entries of 1939 there are some pages of hand written drafts for annual reports and minutes that the author was composing.

The second, green book contains the years 1939 to 1956. Each year has several pairs of facing pages dedicated to it, with the left facing pages containing chronological lists of revenues and the right facing pages lists of expenditures. Typical revenues include membership fees, donations and proceeds from fundraisers, while typical expenses are the various gifts that the Association purchased for the Freeport Sanitorium and the Galt Hospital. The rear of the book has a separate listing of the revenues connected with the Association's annual Christmas Seals campaign.

This series consists of a single 2002 report from Beckman Associates Library Consultants Inc., and relates to the construciton of a new building for the Ayr Branch of the Region of Waterloo Library. The report provides recommendations about where the new library should be located, as well as what the building's design should contain.
