Helen Marryat fonds

Fonds consists of records related mostly to Helen Marryat's (nee Fowlds) personal experiences as a nurse in World War I and her activities as a local historian. There are clippings of her articles in local newspapers, historical maps (drawn by Gerald Marryat) and other materials relating to settlement of Hastings and district such as education and nursing. Also included are the correspondence and photograph collections of her brothers, Donald and Eric (mostly from World War I), and material on Frederick Marryat (1792-1848), navy captain and novelist. In December 2001, Trent University Archives launched an online exhibit which depicts Helen Fowld's experiences in World War I.

The fonds consists of the papers and records of the Ontario Camping Association delineating its operation and policies, conferences, special programmes; the Canadian Camping Magazine; and brochures, photographs, newsletters from member camps. The fonds also contains the Ontario Camping Association's newsletter, and some sound and tape recordings of conferences. Financial records are included, but are presently unorganized.

Fonds consists of textual records including articles of clerkship (Sept 19, 1839), indenture (Jan 25, 1851), requisitions and petitions (Feb 2, 1860 - Aug 7, 1863), and correspondence. The fonds also includes transcripts on miscellaneous family historical items and two articles from the Globe, July 6 and 7, 1859, on the Ploughboy incident in Lake Huron.

The fonds also includes an autograph album of Leonora (Singleton) Duncan, of Brighton, Canada West.
