Chambers, MathieuMarshall Blanchard Dean was an early physician in Fort William; his son Marshall Macdougall Dean had a career with the Canadian Coast Guard and a lifelong interest in history and genealogy. Collection includes correspondence, photographs, and research materials.
The papers consist of the genealogical records compiled by Olive Doran especially during the 1980s and 1990s.

The Buchanan family fonds consists mostly of correspondence, invitations, photographs, books and other types of documents. The records pertain to the years that George and Lilla Buchanan were residents of Sudbury. Most of the correspondence is between Lilla Buchanan and her family and friends. There are also letters of congratulations for the appointment of George Buchanan as King's Counsel. A program, photographs and a newspaper clipping document the Royal Visit to Sudbury on June 5, 1939. The photographs of the fonds depict the Buchanan family and their friends. There are also 11 copies of photographs depicting Sudbury in the early 1900s, people of the community, and early railway construction.
Buchanan, George Edmund, 1875-1941Fonds consists of photographs, correspondence, and miscellaneous documents pertaining to the Atwood family of Lakefield, Ontario. Also included are materials pertaining to Anne Atwood's family, the Traills; a sketch identified through an accompanying note as Ernest Shackleton; and correspondence between Edwin Guillet and explorer George M. Douglas.

The postcards have been arranged chronologically. Undated cards have been placed at the end of the sections. The majority of the postcards are addressed to either 120 MacPherson Avenue (Toronto) or 96 MacPherson Avenue (Toronto), while the remaining 11 postcards are addressed to various hotels, inns, sanatoriums, and homes in Buffalo (NY), Rochester (NY), Long Beach (CA),San Francisco (CA), Petaluma (CA), and San Benito [?] (CA).
The collection includes greeting cards for birthdays, Easter, Christmas, New Years, Halloween, St. Patrick's day, the 4th of July, Valentine's day, Mother's day, and Thanksgiving. The collection also includes popular novelty cards such as photographic portrait postcards or postcards decorated with glitter. Numerous postcards depict buildings and streetscapes, the aftermath of the San Fransisco earthquake of 1906, and advertisements for barbershops, department stores, and hotels.
Series consists of photograhs depicting the people and places of early Vaughan as well as the post offices throughout Vaughan Township (Norberta wrote a book Chatting About the Post Offices of Vaughan Township, Ontario, published 1983), Norberta was also a long-time journalist with the Woodbridge and Vaughan News and thus some of the photos she used in her articles can also be found in this series.
The fonds consists of 48 letters written during World War I, transcriptions of the letters, 1 cd and a book titled “Just a Few Lines: A Memoir of William Thomas Miles from the Great War, 1916-1919.” The book is written by Thomas N. Miles and William J. Miles, Will Miles' sons and is based on the collection of letters in this fonds. 47 of the letters are from Will Miles to his mother and 1 is from his cousin Maud to Will Miles. The letters are written between Sept. 30, 1916 and Feb. 18, 1919. Most of the letters are sent from France with a few of them sent from England, Barriefield Camp and Bramshott Camp. The letters discuss Will Miles' day to day life being a soldier during WWI, Flanders mud, lice, hunger and poison gas, meeting girls, complaining of the the food he eats, people being injured or sick, himself being injured, the weather, thanks for recieving parcels, running into old friends and looking forward to coming home in 1918.
