Spanish Civil War

Subseries consists of transcripts and cassettes documenting Dr. Roland’s oral history interviews with former members of the Mackenzie-Papineau Battalion of Canadian volunteers in the Spanish Civil War. Interviews are arranged alphabetically according to surname.

McMaster Medical School

Subseries consists of oral history interviews regarding the founding and early years of the Medical School at McMaster University (now part of the Faculty of Health Sciences). Included are transcripts and cassettes. Interviews were predominantly conducted by Mrs. Joan McAuley (the first archivist at the Health Sciences Library and wife of early faculty member, Dr. Ronald McAuley). The interviews were conducted under the auspices of the Hannah Institute of Medical History and with Dr. Roland’s assistance (as McMaster’s Hannah Chair). Interviews are arranged alphabetically according to surname.

These interviews were used in researching and writing Long Night’s Journey into Day, 2001. Interviews are arranged alphabetically according to surname.

Prisoners of war in Europe (Second World War)

Subseries consists of transcripts, cassettes, and photographs documenting oral history interviews with former Prisoners of War in Europe during the Second World War. Dr. Roland recorded these interviews as part of his research for an uncompleted monograph on the topic, intended to complement his 2001 book on the experiences of Prisoners of War in Asia. However, Dr. Roland passed away before completing this work. Interviews are arranged alphabetically according to surname.

Warsaw Ghetto / Holocaust

Subseries consists of oral history interviews relating to the clandestine medical school in the Warsaw Ghetto and the Holocaust. Included are transcripts, cassettes, and photographs. These interviews formed the foundation of Dr. Roland’s research for his book, Courage under Siege (published in 1992). Interviews are arranged alphabetically according to surname.

Sub-series consists of student handbooks produced by SAC for students. The handbooks outline contact information, policies/regulations, and general information about student life at Humber.

Calendars produced by the SAC

Sub-series consists of calendars and planners produced for students by the SAC. The calendars feature informaiton about student services and other facts about Humber and student life.

"Expotech" : [registration brochures]

Sub-series consists of registration brochures for Expotech, a showcase of technical and technological projects created by high school students. The expo was used to raise awarness of Humber's programs. The sub-series includes brochures for Expotech 1979, 1981, 1982, 1983, 1984 and, 1985.

"Humber Happenings" : [newsletter]

Subseries consists of issues of a weekly newsletter published by the President's Office at Humber. The newsletter contains news (and some photographs) from Humber. The publication is distinct from a later publication also named "Humber Happenings".

Humber Orangeville shirts

Subseries consists of five t-shirts. Four of the t-shirts feature the Humber logo and the Orangeville name and contain dates, the other is from a charity dodgeball event.
