Series consists of records created or collected by members of the Curry (occasionally spelled Currie) family of Norval and Chinguacousy Township, including James, John, and Samuel Curry and document their domestic affairs and well as activities within the community. Records include personal and business correspondence; legal documents pertaining to land transactions, litigation, and estates; financial and domestic account records; and petitions to council (signed versions and drafts thereof). Series also includes substantial set of penmanship and copying exercises, and records related to local religious and social organizations.

A letter from Rebecca Laidlaw recounts the accidental death of a family member while building a shanty. A note from John Crumbie of Streetsville includes a bill for the amputation of an arm.

Records include correspondence (including letters sent between Chinguacousy and Ireland); legal and accounting documents; ephemera; photographs; school texts; and genealogical lists compiled by descendents.
File consists of letter from John Clark in Chinguacousy to Hugh Gilchrist in Sheepland, County Down, Ireland regarding life in Canada and family news. The letter was intended to be posted during an upcoming visit to "the City" to deliver butter but apparently never was mailed. Descendants have produced several typescripts which are included in the file, as is a short history of Chinguacousy written by a descendant.
File consists of typescript transcriptions of letters sent from Ireland to Chinguacousy by Hugh or James Gilchrist to Hugh Clark. Topics include emigration, family news, and conditions in Ireland. The whereabouts of the originals of these letters are unknown.

Fonds consists of records created or collected by two families related by marriage, the Clarks and Curries of Chinguacousy Township. Fonds includes correspondence, legal and land records, accounting ledgers, petitions to township councils, ephemera, copying and penmanship exercises, and photographs. Records largely relate to domestic affairs (including farming and exchanging of goods) and legal matters (especially land transactions and the settling of estates).
Records from both the Curry and Clark branches of the family were inherited by an ancestor, Ida Curry Clark. An appreciable part of the records on both sides date from before the intermarriage of the two families (when John Clark married Jane Curry). Because the records can readily be associated with one or another of the two branches, the fonds has been arranged into two series as follows:

Includes a letter from the Township Clerk's Office for Chinguacousy directing the removal of a fence from a road allowance in compliance with a council resolution. Two letters from "Mary" concern the death of her mother and subsequent grief. A letter written from Montreal by a correspondent with an illegible signature gives a detailed description of aspects of that locale.
File consists of undated letters sent to and between members of the Curry family. Includes a letter from A. Snowdon, Millwright, making observations and recommendations on mill wheels and related mechanisms.

File consist of petitions (and drafts thereof) to the Council of Chinguacousy requesting financial assistance for a blind woman ("the Widow Ford) and her children. Some drafts are signed by petitioners. An annotation added later appears to identify descendents of the woman.
File consists of accounting ledger of amounts owned to and by Samuel Curry for various good and services. A sample of cloth is included as an enclosure.
