Guelph Public Library public service records

Series consists of records documenting circulation and public service activities at the Guelph Public Library. Included in this series are circulation and membership statistics and publicity and promotion related records. These records document the Library's commitment to public service to the local community and the scope of the activitites undertaken.

This series is arranged into five sub-series.


Series consists material containing J.D. Prentice’s personal manuscripts of children’s and young adult stories. It includes the CBC broadcast scripts that Prentice was a part of. Included is a manuscript for Teddy’s Story, a children’s novella that was published by Lovat Dickson Limited, London in 1937. Other manuscripts that were written throughout the interwar period are also included. Some of the major subjects include: military bases in Newfoundland, First World War in Russia, New Zealand, the manuscripts by Prentice and the merchant marine. A description for each manuscript prepared by Alison Prentice is included at the beginning of the series. Thereafter, the remaining series is organized in alphabetical order by file title.

Photographic Material and Miscellaneous Research Material

Series consists of the photographic material and miscellaneous research material for The Creation of a National Air Force written by W.A.B. Douglas. Series includes photographic prints, a list of negative numbers, invoices for photo order forms, and RCAF [Royal Canadian Air Force] Vol. 2 Maps. Some subjects of the prints include the BCATP [British Commonwealth Air Training Plan] and the submarine attack by 113 (BR) [Bomber Reconnaissance] Squadron.

Village by the Arboretum residents' association architectural drawings and promotional series

Series consists of architectural drawings and promotional materials created by Reid’s Heritage Homes. The architectural drawings include the Elderberry and the Clubhouse. The promotional materials contain room layouts and elevation views for the various residential units available in the village. Included is a price list relating to the properties described in the promotional materials.

There is no further arrangement to these records.


This series consists of the work "Toque" produced quarterly highlighting various activities in the county of Wellington and the Waterloo Region.

The items are arranged by year, however, there may be gaps in the years covered.

Photographic Material

Series consists of the photographic material for The Creation of a National Air Force written by W.A.B. Douglas. Series includes photocopies of prints (including descriptions and captions), prints, order forms for prints, and photographs. Subjects of photographs and prints include WAC [Western Air Command], Aleutians and EAC [Eastern Air Command], Battle of the Atlantic (Gulf 1942-1945), RCAF [Royal Canadian Air Force], Recruiting, Pigeon Communications, “Captains of the Clouds,” and HWE [Home War Establishment] activities. Appendices from John Griffin’s Book Canadian Military Aircraft are also included.

Musical instruments

Series includes musical instruments associated with Trinity College School.

Included are a trumpet and a trombone.

Photographs (92/235)

Series consists of photographs of Canadian Forces planes, ships and helicopters. Photographs include planes and helicopters in the air as well as on aircraft carriers, ground vehicles firing missiles, and soldiers using heavy artillery.


Series consists of minutes, resolutions, and clippings created or collected by the IODE, Victoria-Guelph Chapter. The records document the official business of the chapter. Note some of the minutes contain annual reports from the secretary and or reports from the Standard Bearer.

The records are arranged chronologically by year; however, minutes for the years 1970-1974, 2004-2006, and 2009-2011 are missing. Two folders contain documents that review activities for the years 2005 and 2006.

Old Boys & Girls

Series consists of records documenting the professional and personal activities and achievements of Trinity College School alumni (Old Boys and Old Girls).

Included are photographs, newspaper clippings, obituaries, and correspondence.

School History Files

Series consists of records documenting the history of Trinity College School, including the Weston Campus, the School fires of 1893 and 1928, construction of School buildings and facilities, the Woodstock campus, athletics, the School's houses, cadets, the Chapel, the School's centennial year, the Library, debates and dramatics, the governing body, the Oxford Cup, the Pancake Toss, the Pat Moss Club, and music.

Included are notes, correspondence, reports, briefings, meeting minutes and agendas, and newspaper clippings.

Annual Files

Series consists of records documenting the activities of the Junior School, arranged by year of creation.

Included are reports, correspondence, student handbooks, play and concert programs, notes and reports.
