This photograph shows the front entrance to the Carnegie library. In 1903 the cornerstone was laid for the first Free Public Library in Guelph on Nelson Crescent, and the building was completed by 1905. The money was fronted by Andrew Carnegie and the architect was W. Frye Colwill.

This photograph shows shows the remains of the fireplace of Russell's Tavern located on Lot 10, concession 3, Division 'B', Guelph Township. The tavern was built as a wayside inn by order of John Galt in 1829 on the south side of the great Waterloo Road (lot 10, concession 3, Guelph township).
