Fonds consists of records donated by Mrs. Margaret Scrivener that include some personal records and records relating to her career as a Member of the Ontario Provincial Parliament, a Cabinet Minister in two portfolios, and in various other capacities. The records cover the entire period of her provincial political career.

The material has been arranged into outgoing correspondence and indexes, speeches, a few miscellaneous files, a few incoming correspondence and private members bills files, and files relating to her tenure on the Criminal Injuries Compensation Board. The series of outgoing correspondence, in particular, inter-mixes her private affairs with those relating to her various positions in the government.

Substantial information may be found in the fonds relating to the Ministries of Housing, Government Services and Revenue, the Ontario Task Force on Provincial Rail Policy, and the Criminal Injuries Compensation Board.

Fonds consists of records created and accumulated by Ian Scott during his political and legal career. The records document Scott's political and legal career during the time he served as Liberal MPP for the St. David (1985-1987) and St. George-St. David (1987-1990) ridings.

Records include: annotated copies of Scott's speeches and notes of remarks (1985-1990), election materials (1981-1990) including a diary/memoir manuscript by Scott of his 1985 campaign, some material related to Liberal Party fund-raising, and Scott's Queen's Park Reports (1985-1990). Records also consist of records related to his research on legal cases at the time he served as Attorney General, particularly, research material and handwritten notes on cases pertaining to the Ontario Energy Board. In addition, records contain personal papers including biographical information, correspondence and condolences on the death of his parents in 1989. A number of photographs pertaining to his fundraising and election campaigns are also part of this fonds.

Fonds consists of correspondence, constituency records, personal records, Ontario Liberal Party records, speeches and photographs created and accumulated by Dalton McGuinty in various professional capacities and in his personal life. Records were created and accumulated by McGuinty in his roles as MPP for Ottawa South, leader of the Official Opposition party in the Ontario Legislature, leader of the Ontario Liberal Party, and as a private citizen.

Fonds includes correspondence created by McGuinty as leader of the Official Opposition and as an MPP for Ottawa South, as well as personal correspondence between Dalton McGuinty and friends, colleagues, supporters and others, such as David Suzuki, Lincoln Alexander, Peter Munk, Jack Layton and Ken Shaw. Correspondence covers topics such as: concerns of constituents, Ontario Liberal Party positions, birthday greetings, letters of thanks, congratulation, condolence and sympathy, and responses to letters congratulating McGuinty on 20 years of public service.

Fonds also includes annotated remarks given by McGuinty in his role as leader of the Ontario Liberal Party to guests at Ontario Liberal Party fundraisers and events, and surveys and questionnaires created by party stakeholders and sent to Dalton McGuinty in his role as leader of the Ontario Liberal Party.

Photographs in the fonds consist of personal copies of photographs of Dalton McGuinty accumulated by him during his career. Photographs depict McGuinty with individuals, groups, visiting dignitaries and celebrities, as well as in studio portraits.

Electronic records in the fonds consist of a media guide to the 1999 Ontario Liberal Party campaign. They include textual records detailing the various candidates, as well as photographs of each candidate and Ontario Liberal Party branding.

Fonds consists of two minute books created by the North Hastings Teachers' Institute.

The minute books provide detailed information pertaining to curriculum development. The minutes also document discussions relating to various teachers' experiences such as dealing with behavioural problems and teaching in one room school houses.

Fonds also consists of newspaper clippings, a programme for the 1928 convention, a programme for the 1929 convention, and account details of expenses.

The fonds predominately consists of correspondence and genealogical information relating to Duncan and Katherine Cameron and their family. The records capture family information over three generations.

Some of the earliest records in the fonds documents Duncan and Katherine (Baillie) Cameron's early experiences and observations following their arrival in Upper Canada in 1835. The fonds includes correspondence regarding their family home in York Mills, "Lindally", which they had built in 1836 and named after their home in Scotland. Correspondence discusses topics such as the harvest and agriculture, Duncan Cameron's financial affairs and the Cameron's family life in York Mills, Upper Canada. The correspondence also touches on the political climate at the time including the Upper Canada Rebellion of 1837 and Duncan Cameron's views on the "radical Yankees", as well as his opinions on Lord Durhams' Report on the Affairs of British North America released in 1839.

Additional textual records in the fonds consist of correspondence from Archibal Cameron, Donald Cameron and Dr. Kenneth Cameron, typed transcripts of family correspondence prepared by Colonel Kenneth Cameron (ca. 1914), genealogical charts of the Camerons of Erracht and related families, Camerons of the Clunes and the Camerons of Camisky, Scotland and Lindally, marriage notices, legal documents and newspaper clippings.

The fonds also include photographs, maps and drawings accumulated and maintained by the Cameron family.

For the most part, the fonds is arranged in the original order retained by the donor.

High treason register

Fonds consists of "Register of Persons Connected with High Treason during the War of 1812-14, with U.S.A." along with associated notes, correspondence, and indices, compiled by Charles Black, special clerk at the Ontario Department of Public Records and Archives in 1926.

The register is arranged alphabetically by surname, and includes information as to land allotments, charges preferred against the individual, some biographical information, and references used: mainly the Ontario Archives, Dominion Archives, Ontario Historical Society, and Patents Office, Department of Lands and Forests.

Fonds consists of records of the Canadian Yearly Meeting of the Society of Friends (Quakers), its constituent meetings, its standing committees, and other related bodies which entrusted their records to its care between 1955 and 1974. This includes records from the three Yearly Meetings that united in 1955 to become Canadian Yearly Meeting.

An inventory for the original records was prepared by the University of Western Ontario Regional History Collection in 1971, and reference codes were assigned. These reference codes are provided here in brackets next to the title, for the use of researchers who may wish to correlate published references to the microfilm and to the originals. In the University of Western Ontario reference codes, C identifies records of Conservative Friends, O identifies Orthodox records, and H identifies Genessee (Hicksite) records.

Harley Cummings fonds

Fonds consists of primary research material and photographs accumulated by Harley R. Cummings for his book "Early Days in Haliburton", in addition to the manuscript for the book. Fonds also consists of correspondence, including letters from the Honorable Leslie Frost, photographs, maps, and an original 1863 surveyor's diary for Eyre Township. Fonds also includes the C.R. Stewart diaries, dated 1902-1904. C.R. Stewart (1826-1905) was resident agent for the Canadian Land and Immigration Company and was the first settler in the Village of Haliburton. In his diaries he refers to Colonel Samuel Hughes and Mossom Boyd. Stewart's son, C.E. Stewart (1851-1921) was editor of the "Bobcaygeon Independent". Fonds also includes several historical papers and publications written by Cummings and others.

Fonds consists of several volumes of the manual RCOC Instructions and suggested amendments to the work.
Part I of the manual is titled Administration and Duties of Officers and deals with topics such as missions performed by Ordnance Ammunition Depots and the range of stockage and territory served; the operation and maintenance of various equipment; security issues; and the duties and responsibilities of various types of personnel.
Part III is titled Stock Control and is concerned with the issues such as the issuing, conditioning and disposal of stores; inspection and discrepancies; and stock records.
Part V is titled Work Measurement and Methods and deals with subjects such as time sheets; labour and production data; methods of improvement; and progress charts.
Part VII is titled Unit Accounting and deals with topics such as unit ledgers; receipt of stores, issue of stores, internal issues and receipts; and the repair and laundering of stores.
Part VIII is titled Manual of Ammunition and describes the various ammunition depot areas; the storing and handling of ammunition; ventilation and transportation; and fire prevention and first aid.
Part X is titled Unit Ammunition Instructions and deals with issues such as maintenance and salvage; safety precautions; and identifying the various types of ammunition.
