Item is a medal commemorating the tenth anniversary of the Order of Canada (1967-1977). On the front of the coin is a flying owl, a crown and a maple leaf. On the back of the coin is a relief of the profiles of two men and the words "GVBERNATOR DOMINAQVE GABRIELLA LEGER VIR EXC JVLTVS SVMMVS R.P." The coin is gold and is in a black case with a padded lid. Inside the lid, in gold printing, is the inscription "Tenth Anniversary of the Order of Canada 1967-1977".

The records concern the ordering and wearing of Order of Canada badges as well as Gale's support for the nomination of Richard Bell to the Order of Canada. Included is a copy of "A round table from sea to sea...the Order of Canada" by Maxwell Cohen and a February 1987 publication listing the companions, officers and members of the Order of Canada.

File consists of correspondence sent or received by George Gale pertaining to his participation in a 1991 oral history project of the Canadian Judicial Council, as well as letters exchanged between Gale and Lord Denning regarding Gale's request for information about the division of the Court of Appeal and the divisional courts in England. Also included in the file is a copy of the candidate guide to the 1991 Law Society bencher elections.

The photographs show Gale posing with attendees, seated at the head table, and views of the room. Included in these images are R. Roy McMurtry, Pauline McGibbon, Premier William Davis, John J. Robinette, Bora Laskin, as well as Gale's three sons, Peter, Robert and David.
