Series consists of draft motions, resolutions, minutes, calculations, along with occasional petitions, correspondence of Council and the electorate and other sundry documentation created by Council in the preparation of the official minutes and by-laws.
These records help to delineate Council’s functions, organization, activities and illuminate the origin, development and evolution of municipal policy in its most unrefined form. This series also provides evidence that failed to appear in the somewhat sanitized documents of final entry generated by Council such as minutes and September. The function of the Council as an early Court of Revision is chronicled here as well. (From 1850-1859, the Court of Revision was referred to as the Court of Appeal).
Council Committee/Committe of the Whole Agendas and Minutes
Series consists of records of the deliberations and decisions of the Town and City of Vaughan Council Committee. These records consist of notices of meetings and agendas, minutes, working notes, staff reports and related correspondence for Council appointed Committees such as Property Standards Committee, Planning Committee, Committee of Adjustment and so forth.
