Fonds consists of records created by Daniel Heisey (1914-1924), Mrs. Louise Heisey (1924-1931), Norm Helmuth (1931-1938) and Ernie Ronnenberg (1938-1977), who were observers for the Meteorological Service Office and later the Meteorological Division of the Federal Government of Canada. Records include meteorological registers, climatological registers, instructions and maximum/minimum temperature log sheets. Fonds is comprised of the following series:

Townline Community Club

This fonds contains records relating to the operation and history of the Townline Community Club, a club that was active in the areas of Dumfries and Blenheim townships between 1929 and 1967. The fonds includes minute books, a history of the Club written by its members and a set of yearly programmes showing the activities of the club. This fonds contains three series.

This sub-series consists of documents used in the Fiftieth Anniversary of the Ayr Travel Club in 1961. It includes a description of the celebration, as well as some of the documents used in the celebration. These include typed copies of the meetings of the first minutes of the Club, menus used in Burns Night Dinners of previous years, and photographs of Club Picnics from 1913.

Part of Blenheim-Dumfries Farm Women's Club

This series contains a set of minute books from the Blenheim-Dumfries Farm Women's Club meeting between 1920 and 1981. These minutes detail what happened at each meeting of the Club, including number of members present, elections to the executive, resolutions made by the members, monies raised by fundraiser, events and activities planned, entertainments had and other pieces of interest. The minute books generally have membership lists and financial records at the end of the book, showing revenues and expenditures for the years covered in that volume. The final volume has a history of the Club for the years 1970 to 1980. Though this volume is the latest one available, there is no indication that the Club was planning to disband, so the year of the club's dissolution (if any) is unclear. The series is arranged chronologically.

This series consists of labels meant to be attached to book donation from the Ayr Women's Hospital Aid Association. One of the goals of the Aid Association was to send books to the Library of the Freeport Sanitorium. Each donated book had a label on the inside of the cover indicating that it had been donated by the Association. These labels that were surplus are in this series.

Financial Records

This series contains financial records generated by the Ayr Public Library over the Library's lifetime as an independent organization, between 1899 and 1968. These financial records represent the day-to-day operations of the Library, as the series includes the cancelled cheques the Library used to make payments, as well as the receipts and bills that indicate to whom the money was owed. The cheques and receipts indicate the wide range of goods and services that the Library purchased, including many regular bills for utilities, cleaning services and fuel, as well periodic purchases of equipment, furniture, repairs and, naturally, books. The series also contains monthly bank statements from the Canadian Bank of Commerce (predecessor of CIBC), including both handwritten deposit and statement books and loose-leaf printed statements. As well. there are annual financial statements prepared by Library staff; several surviving ledgers, in which were recorded financial transactions; and an eclectic collection of the tax forms for the Library's small staff. Series is arranged chronologically.
