UntitledNo. 11 Wing (Auxiliary) Headquarters was authorized as RCAF (Reserve) Wing Montreal on 1 October 1950. Its functions were performed by No. 1 Group (Auxiliary) until 15 April 1957, when that headquarters was disbanded, and subsequently by Air Defence Command staff. No. 11 Wing was formed on 1 September 1961. Its main function was to administer and control No. 401 and N. 438 Squadrons. On 1 February 1968, it was integrated into the Canadian Armed Forces as No. 11 Air Reserve Wing.
