Morneau, YvonFonds contains the technical and operational files relating to the Canadian Marconi Co./Canadian Overseas Telecommunications Corporation operation of the Yamachiche wireless receiving station in Yamachiche QC, 1913-1973. It includes correspondence 1925-1931, some operational files, technical files on wireless receivers at the station and blueprints of receiver schematics 1934-1952; manuals and instruction books for receivers made by Marconi’s Wireless Telegraph Co., Canadian Marconi Co., Hasler Ltd., Northern Electric Co., Philips Telecommunications etc., 1942-1964. Operational files from the Canadian Overseas Telecommunications Corp. which include its corporate memos and procedures and various types of weekly and monthly technical reports, 1955-1971. A selection of logs for telegraph, telephone and graphs for wireless circuits to major cities in Europe, Asia and South America, 1963-1973. Also trade literature and catalogues produced by Marconi’s Wireless Telegraph Co. Ltd. and other manufacturers, 1927-1963.
Yamachiche Wireless Receiving StationThe fonds consists of a large collection of printed material relating to the St. Lawrence Deep Waterway/ St. Lawrence Seaway, 1894-1969. It also contains Canadian and American federal, provincial/state, regional and municipal descriptions, reports, and submissions. There is also material from associations including American pro and anti-St. Lawrence Seaway lobby groups. There are articles from newspapers, magazines and other publications about the Seaway and its costs/benefits. There is also Wright’s manuscript, galleys and reviews of his book “The St. Lawrence Deep Waterway: A Canadian Appraisal” (1935) as well as chronologies and Wright’s talks and submission about the Seaway. There is a small amount of Wright’s correspondence, mostly asking for information about the Seaway. Lastly, there are special newspaper sections about the Seaway as well as maps and oversize documents. The fonds is arranged in five series.
Wright, Conrad Payling, 1897-1991Fonds consists of documents, technical drawings, photographs, clippings, reprinted articles on Massey Ferguson or Massey Harris, a badge, a pin, a business card, and some drafting tools. There are also some internal newsletters and publications from Massey-Harris in Australia. The archives show that Windsor seems to have been involved in the design of model 37 combine and that he worked in Canada, Australia, and France.
