Series consists of the minute book of the Light and Power Committee for 1905-1906. Included in this series are committee reports to Council, recommendations for the hiring of a gas engineer, extension of the gas and electrical works, discussion of the use of debentures to raise the funds necessary for the new utilities, rates for gas and electricity, and land acquisitions of the utilities. These records document the role that the Light and Power Committee played in the development of the City of Guelph's public utilities.
Series consists of one letter book of outgoing correspondence from the City Engineer for the period 1902-1906. Included in this series is correspondence from the City Engineer to local residents, homeowners and businesses, members of committees and Council regarding public works and sewerage issues. The records also include correspondence from the Chairman of the Sewerage Committee. These records document the role that the City Engineer had in developing Guelph's physical infrastructure.

Included in this series are committee reports to Council, recommendations for a new fire hall, fire brigade appointments, equipment purchases, street lighting, tenders for a new market weigh scales, market stall rents, market clerk duties, and rental rates for City Hall space for public meetings. These record document the role that the committee played in managing the affairs of the Fire Department, public buildings, and public services.
