Guelph Public Library public service records

Series consists of records documenting circulation and public service activities at the Guelph Public Library. Included in this series are circulation and membership statistics and publicity and promotion related records. These records document the Library's commitment to public service to the local community and the scope of the activitites undertaken.

This series is arranged into five sub-series.


This series consists of the work "Toque" produced quarterly highlighting various activities in the county of Wellington and the Waterloo Region.

The items are arranged by year, however, there may be gaps in the years covered.


Series consists of the journal "Families" formerly the Bulletin produced by the Ontario Genealogical Society. Although issues for the years 1991 to 1994 are not fully listed on the file listing, they can be found in box 6.

They are arranged by volume, however, there may be gaps in the years covered. Please consult the file listing for more details.

Indexes are available for volumes eight through ten, thirteen through to fifteen, and seventeen.

Correspondence files - Marg Mackinnon

This series consists of correspondence files created and or received during MacKinnon’s time as councilor. The files deal with issues or concerns from constituents such as the placement of bus shelters and signs, road conditions, agricultural land use, heritage issues, dead trees, street lighting, and abortion. Included are correspondence files documenting awards and or honors received and letters of appreciation for her service to Guelph.

There is no further arrangement to these records.

Our Waterloo Kin

Series consits of the newsletter Our Waterloo Kin created by the Waterloo Region Branch of the Ontario Genealogical Society. Included are book reviews, new materials available at the Kitchener Public Library, and genealogical related queries.


Series consits of the newsletter Branches created by the Grand River Branch of the United Empire Loyalists' Association of Canada. The newsletter contains of list of officers, information about membership fees, programming informaiton and articles on various subjects including genealogy or family history.

Historical homes of Guelph records - Zonta Club

This series consists of programs, promotional material, notes, and clippings created or accumulated by the Zonta Club for their historical homes of Guelph tours. Tours were run annually and each tour selected one or more historical homes in Guelph to show and to discuss.

The records in this series are arranged chrologically by the year of the tour.

Administrative records - Zonta Club

This series consists of correspondence relating to the Zonta Club of Guelph's application for charter membership, general correspondence, Zonta International classification manuals, membership rosters, fact sheets about the organization, and newsletters.
