Fonds consists of textual information of the Youth Training and Employment Program (YTEP) in 1986, as well as memoranda, briefing notes, tables, and reports on the YTEP. Includes reports on the purpose of the YTEP, different options available for Youth Employment Programs, and feasible options for expansion within the Department of National Defence. There is also an audit report on the YTEP and includes distribution lists dealing with recruiting directive 2/86 and National Defence Headquarters (NDHQ) instruction ADM (Per) 5/86. Also includes a memorandum dealing with seven different options designed to assist young Canadians in the transition from school to the work force, and a distribution list for NDHQ Instruction DCDS 5/86 for the Student Youth Employment Program (SYEP).

Fonds consists of photographs depicting the women’s service dress uniform introduced in 1979. Along with the modified jacket and skirt, other items illustrated include the winter hat, the gabardine raincoat, the overcoat, the V-neck sweater and the leather purse. Accompanying the photographs is a letter signed by N.A. Buckingham, Director of Ceremonial for the Chief of the Defence Staff, which discusses the method by which the new uniform was to be introduced. Within this letter, a brief description of each item is provided.

Fonds consists of material documenting William Stanley Lockhart's service with the Royal Flying Corps and with the Royal Air Force during the First World War (1917-1919). Includes his school notes, flying logbook, and military educational manuals. Also includes are aircraft logbooks and engine manual, and correspondence related to Lockhart's Electric Synchronized Gear invention. There are also photographs of Lockhart in uniform, his crashed Sopwith Camel, and a Camel taking off from the HMAS Sydney.

Fonds consists of a copy of chapter five from the book “Freewheeling: The Story of Bicycling in Canada” written by William Humber and published in 1986. Chapter five entitled “Off to War: The Story of the Canadian Corps Cyclists’ Battalion” contains survivor accounts of the use of bicycles during the First World War. It traces the emergence of bicycles as tools of transportation in war and explores their disadvantages and advantages. The chapter also includes reproductions of photographs of the Canadian Corps Cyclists’ Battalion.

There are also 3 smaller lithographs representing the Canadian Forces badge, the Air Operations Branch (1972) and the Air Command badge (1975), as well as a picture advertisement for recruiting.

Fonds consists of transcripts of interviews conducted by Lt. Commander William Glover on assignment for Directorate of History of the Department of National Defence. Glover was assigned to research personnel and training policies and practices in the Royal Canadian Navy between 1939 and 1945. Each subject held a position as an instructor or a staff officer responsible for personnel and training. Ten interview subjects were selected accordingly. They included: John Alexander Charles; David Allan Collins; Jim Dowler; Grace McDowell; Robert W. Murdoch; George Nation; Bent Gesture Sivertz; Gordon W. Stead; John Howard Wade; and Edward Arnold MacFayden. The fonds also includes a paper entitled "In Quest of a Canadian Naval identity" written for the Second Naval Historical Conference held in Halifax in 1993.

Fonds consists of photographs documenting the naval training and service of William George Morrow during the Second World War. Includes loose photographs of HMCS Nonsuch and the minesweeper HMCS Georgian, in Atlantic Canada and overseas. Photographs include depictions of a visit by General Montgomery to the HMCS Georgian in May 1944, and "Operation Neptune", part of the Normandy invasion. Also includes photograph album of pictures of HMCS Georgian, scenes in Atlantic Canada, and V-J (Victory in Japan) Day celebrations. Photographs in album have captions and dates on the back. Textual records are copies of three letters written by Mrs. Morrow to the Directorate of History and Heritage in 1986, which discuss the donation of her husband's Second World War material.

Fonds consists primarily of signals, correspondence, reports and forms from the time of each convoy's organization, sailing and arrival as well as any subsequent proceedings where applicable during 1941-1945. A "Voyage Report", reports from the Commodore and from individual ships, and a "Report of Attack on U-Boat" are examples of the type of material frequently found in the selection. In some cases detailed routeing instructions, sailing orders, narratives and log entries have been included. The amount of material for each convoy varies but in general adds up to a fairly extensive record of its lifetime. Some of the convoy series are nearly complete, with only a few omissions.

Fonds consists of an unpublished work researched and written by Wayne W. Walker in 2006 and entitled ""The Annapolis Regiments" of Nova Scotia: The Officers, NCOs and Men of the 69th and 72nd Battalions of Infantry Volunteer Militia 1867-1914." The document chronicles and honours "The Annapolis Regiments", 69th and 72nd Battalions of Infantry, and the Annapolis county men who volunteered to serve their country as part-time soldiers. The record starts with the battalions' formation in 1867 and follows them through to their calling out to active service as part of the 6th division, Canadian Expeditionary Force for overseas service in October 1914. A few early records concerning the Digby County Artillery Militia Unit and the Digby County Infantry Battalion (which was never raised) are also included.
