UntitledWhiskey Ledger belonging to Nathaniel Haskill who owned property and lived at Lot 16, Broken Front and Lot 165, Concession 1, Hope Township (now the Municipality of Port Hope). The earliest date of entry is 1801 with most dates primarily from 1807- 1813. - the inside pages are hand written with the purchaser's name, a description and amount of whiskey purchased and the means of payment. Often based on a barter system with payment made in the form of bushels of wheat, cows, barrels of flour etc. Some customers paid in cash. - comprised of 145 pages which are written upon with the remaining pages blank. The first 33 pages include more than one customer, where later pages, 34 - 145 are devoted to a single customer. Each customer has two pages together, side by side. In handwriting at the top is the name of the customer. First name on the left page and surname on the right side page. Left page also lists the date, amount of whiskey obtained and the cost in pounds and shillings. The left page indicates the means of payment.
Consists of an empty envelope. Written on it says "Henry H. ? Esq. Port Hope, C. W" Stamped on it are "Paid 3, Quebec 15 1853, and Port Hope 19 Jan. 1853 C.W"
Fonds consists of advertisement printing proofs, invoices, handwritten notes, and correspondence originally belonging to William Furby, printer and owner of the Port Hope Gazette, c1830-1850. For more detailed information, please refer to item-level descriptions.

UntitledNathaniel Haskill and his wife Abigail (Sawyer) with 7 children made their way to Smith's Creek from Massachusetts about 1795. They were part of the 187 settlers brought in by Elias Smith, J. Walton and A. Walton.
- This book belonged to Sanford Watts Haskill, son of Josiah, grandson of Nathaniel and records financial numbers along the top and right side columns. The body of the page is a journal /record of the day to day happenings on the farm and describes the weather for each day, with date listed in the left hand columns.
- this journal/ledger consists of 565 pages. A loose page, with three columns, (2 for "Deaths" and one coulmn for "Marriages") is inserted at the beginning of the book and lists the names of people who have died or been married with a page number beside. Turning to the page gives you the date of death or marriage indicated by a notation. As the page is badly worn on the right side the Marriage page numbers are missing. On the reverse side the page numbers are clear, although the names are difficult to read.
File consists of papers once belonging to Arthur T.H. Williams. It includes: financial records (1865-1876), Real Estate Account Book (1881), and a newspaper land re-sale advertisement (Seymour Township).

- the certifiacte is made out to William Wakely, dated Feb. 22, 1884. It has been signed by William Smith, Deputy Minister of Marine and Fisheries and A. W. McLelan Minister of Marine and Fisheries.
- this certificate allows the bearer, W. Wakely to sail a fore and aft rigged sailing vessel in the inland waters.
File consists of copies of notes and copies of original materials relating to A. T. H. Williams, Riel Rebellion, death of A. T. H. Williams, Emily Williams, Sarah Williams. Also includes a copy of the funeral program for A. T. H. Williams and a copy of his obituary.
UntitledItem is a map which shows the procession for the funeral of Col. A. T. H. Williams on 21 Jul 1885. The route is marked in red. It appears the casket left the Midland Railway Station, went across Augusta Street to Queen Street, west on Walton Street to Brown Street across Bedford to St. John's Anglican Church on Pine Street North and back to Walton Street and across Toronto Road to St. John's Anglican Cemetery where he was buried.

Item is a notice to invite Port Hope residents to organize the Port Hope Horticultural Society in 1894. From the back of the card: "Notice! A meeting of the members of the proposed Port Hope Horticultural Society will be held at 4 o'clock, p.m. on Thursday, January 11th, 1894 at the Provisional Council Chamber, in McLean's Building, on Walton Street, Port Hope, for the purpose of organizing the said Society and the Election of Officers for the first year. H. H. Burnham, Mayor Port Hope, Jan. 9th, 1894." Card is addressed to George Watson of Port Hope.
