The majority of letters focus on inviting important people to a dinner held in January 1978 to introduce the plans for the Museum to potential donors and members of the government. Administrative records consist of meeting agendas, minutes, by-laws, and letters of incorporation. Publications includes two published newsletters of the Camp X Military Museums Society.

Fonds consists of newspapers, photographs, financials, and personal documents relating to the professional and private lives of Carl Mantz, including his wife Elizabeth Gibson. Included in the fonds are records pertaining to the purchase and maintenance of the Whitby Weekly News building, correspondence and letters regarding his enlistment in the RCAF, programs and background information for the Ten Centuries concerts, and the meeting minutes for his initiatives concerning Whitby senior citizens. Of particular interest are the newspaper photographs which represent various events, people, and places of Whitby in the 1950s and 1960s. The fonds is composed of the following series: Elizabeth G. The fonds consists of the operational records of James Rowe & Co., particularly records relating to the shipment and receipt of commodities in the company’s early decades.

The fonds is arranged in files. Documentary forms include correspondence related to business operations; receipts given by the company at the time goods were deposited; orders, which are often accompanied by receipts; delivery statements giving an inventory of goods transported by various Great Lakes vessels to James Rowe & Co.; and freight advice notes, which announce the delivery of goods at the Whitby Station by rail.

Fonds consists of six scrapbooks pertaining to the 1957-58 season for the Whitby Dunlops hockey team. Scrapbooks contain newspaper clippings, magazine articles, and some handwritten observations by Ken. Scrapbook five follows the team's 1958 trip to Oslo, Norway to compete in the World Ice Hockey Championship which they go on to would win. Each scrapbook contains a table of contents at the beginning.

The fonds consists of photographs of Whitby taken by Leonard Beckley in his late adulthood (1950-1999), as well as photographs of Beckley’s family of origin in the early years of their settlement in Whitby at 509 Beech Street East (1910-1930). Photographs taken by Leonard depict his garden, nature scenes, and events in the town. Photographs in the latter category provide evidence of racist public activities in Whitby, including the following: the existence of the Whitby Rotary Minstrels, whose members put on minstrel shows while in blackface (photographs date into the 1950s); various town parade participants in redface and blackface; and a parade participant who is likely dressed in a Ku Klux Klan outfit.

The collection consists of a variety of material relating to the professional and private lives of May Irwin and her sister Flora. As one of North America’s foremost “coon shouters,” May Irwin engaged in and benefited from the deeply racist traditions of minstrel music and blackface performance in the nineteenth and twentieth centuries. Irwin’s musical records constitute hate speech.
