Series consists of the papers of Major-General Bruce MacDonald, which describe his involvement in the 1965-1966 United Nations India-Pakistan Observation Mission (UNIPOM). Originally intended to be published, the book was never completed. There are also series records relating to the United Nations Military Observer Group in India and Pakistan (UNMOGIP) from 1971 to 1998. Shafqat Hussain Chauhdry’s thesis for a Doctorate of Philosophy degree entitled United Nations India-Pakistan Observation Mission (UNIPOM), 1965-1966), published in 1979, is also included in the series.

Reasons were not given for the resignation, although it was indicated that a succession of disputes over matters of key policy was the reason. The title is “Keeping the Peace” and reviews developments in the field of United Nations peace-keeping. Also includes a copy of a paper “Guidance on types of forces Canada can most readily provide for use when dealing with requests for support of the United Nations”.

Fonds consists of photocopied correspondence of members of Joan Graham's and her husband's families during the South African War of 1887 to 1978, the First World War, and the Second World War, as well as miscellaneous personal documents from 1887 up to 1978. The Boer war letters are between Charles Graham and his wife and their son Douglas Graham to his mother. The First World War letters are between Charlie Graham and his mother, and between Alistair Smales and his own mother. The Second World War letters are between Joan and Chris Bartlett. The letters are sorted by family name, by war period, and by date within each period. The miscellaneous documents are grouped by family name, and include letters, receipts, newspaper clippings, birth and death certificates and other papers. In regards to arrangement, the first folder is divided into 4 files:
1- Graham family Boer War letters,
2- Graham family 1st World War letters,
3- Smales family 1st World War letters,
4- Bartlett family 2nd World War letters. The second folder consists of Graham and Smales family miscellaneous documents.

Series consists of a draft manuscript by Robert H. Farquharson entitled “For your Tomorrow: Canadians in the Burma Campaign, 1941-1945.” The manuscript explores the causes of the Burma war, and discusses the significant role Canada and Canadians played in it. Between 7000 and 8000 Canadians served in Burma during the Second World War, five hundred of which were killed. The series also includes a newsletter produced by the 435-436 Burma Squadrons Association, called the “Pukkha Gen” (vol. 36, no. 2, Nov 2007). The newsletter has an account of a squadron reunion and stories from squadron members.

Various papers produced by the review committee include: working papers, correspondence, schedules and calendars, and general administrative paperwork.

Earle G. Dolbel fonds

Fonds consists of textual and pictorial items collected by Earle G. Dolbel during his stay at Marlag und Milag Nord prison camp from 1941 to 1945. There is a scrapbook and a personal journal. The scrapbook contains drawings, news clipping, label stickers, poems, photographs from home, and contributions from his fellow prisoners; it pays particular attention to the recreational activities and musical theatre productions in the camp. The journal, which covers the time between his capture and his return to Canada, explains more of Mr. Dolbel's routine in the camp. He writes about weather, rations, going to service, and hearing air raids outside. The highlights for Mr. Dolbel came whenever he received mail from his family and packages from the Red Cross. Fonds also contains a copy of the journal made in 1979 by one of his children, and an Imperial Oil magazine from 1988.
