Collection consists of material documenting the military service of Wilfred Reid May during the First World War. Includes photocopy of a pilot's flying log book for 1917-1918 when he was with the no.94 Squadron (RFC) and combat reports, beginning with his first combat flight on 21 April 1918 when he was with the 209 Squadron (RAF). Also includes various photographs, letter describing various battles, newspaper clippings and magazine articles detailing hi contributions in aviation, radio transcripts of programs aired in his memory and list recording important dates in his career.Also includes copies of photographs of HMCS Bonaventure and Royal Canadian Navy (RCN) aircraft.

Fonds consists of photographs documenting the naval training and service of William George Morrow during the Second World War. Includes loose photographs of HMCS Nonsuch and the minesweeper HMCS Georgian, in Atlantic Canada and overseas. Photographs include depictions of a visit by General Montgomery to the HMCS Georgian in May 1944, and "Operation Neptune", part of the Normandy invasion. Also includes photograph album of pictures of HMCS Georgian, scenes in Atlantic Canada, and V-J (Victory in Japan) Day celebrations. Photographs in album have captions and dates on the back. Textual records are copies of three letters written by Mrs. Morrow to the Directorate of History and Heritage in 1986, which discuss the donation of her husband's Second World War material.

Fonds consists of transcripts of interviews conducted by Lt. Commander William Glover on assignment for Directorate of History of the Department of National Defence. Glover was assigned to research personnel and training policies and practices in the Royal Canadian Navy between 1939 and 1945. Each subject held a position as an instructor or a staff officer responsible for personnel and training. Ten interview subjects were selected accordingly. They included: John Alexander Charles; David Allan Collins; Jim Dowler; Grace McDowell; Robert W. Murdoch; George Nation; Bent Gesture Sivertz; Gordon W. Stead; John Howard Wade; and Edward Arnold MacFayden. The fonds also includes a paper entitled "In Quest of a Canadian Naval identity" written for the Second Naval Historical Conference held in Halifax in 1993.

There are also 3 smaller lithographs representing the Canadian Forces badge, the Air Operations Branch (1972) and the Air Command badge (1975), as well as a picture advertisement for recruiting.

Fonds consists of a copy of chapter five from the book “Freewheeling: The Story of Bicycling in Canada” written by William Humber and published in 1986. Chapter five entitled “Off to War: The Story of the Canadian Corps Cyclists’ Battalion” contains survivor accounts of the use of bicycles during the First World War. It traces the emergence of bicycles as tools of transportation in war and explores their disadvantages and advantages. The chapter also includes reproductions of photographs of the Canadian Corps Cyclists’ Battalion.

Some of the subjects covered include: the integration and unification of the Canadian Forces; Canada’s defence policy; the Hon. John Turner and the 1984 election campaign; and the North American Air Defence Command (NORAD). Also includes five files containing newspaper clippings and articles, and some personal correspondence. There are also some photographs of Lee and some articles and speeches by him. The subseries is arranged in alphabetical order by file title. The one exception is a list of Lee’s files which is placed at the beginning of the subseries.

Fonds consists of photographs depicting the women’s service dress uniform introduced in 1979. Along with the modified jacket and skirt, other items illustrated include the winter hat, the gabardine raincoat, the overcoat, the V-neck sweater and the leather purse. Accompanying the photographs is a letter signed by N.A. Buckingham, Director of Ceremonial for the Chief of the Defence Staff, which discusses the method by which the new uniform was to be introduced. Within this letter, a brief description of each item is provided.

Subseries consists of files for each of the countries visited during a world tour the students took in the spring of 1977. The tour took students to the United Kingdom, Germany, France, Belgium, Israel, Cyprus, Yugoslavia, Mexico, Brazil, Venezuela, Ghana, Zaire, Iran, Indonesia, Hong Kong, Korea, and Japan. Files exist for each destination and there are also a notes file for the European leg and one for the tour as a whole. Files are arranged in order of the itinerary with the general notes being located at the end of the subseries along with a file for maps of the tour.
