Item is a logbook which contains Port Hope Girl Guides attendance records from 1921-1924. Attendance was recorded by Lillian Hamly, Captain of the First Port Hope Company of Girl Guides.

The fonds consists of records related to the Sutherland family and some of Embro and it’s past. It is arranged into the following series and subseries: Genealogy, which consists of notes and charts about the marriages, deaths, births, and lives of the Sutherlands. Correspondence, largely letters to Florence from her parents, with a few outliers to Hector, and other documents. Diaries, which are the personal diaries of Florence Sutherland. Photographs, which include the house the Sutherlands lived in, and various family members. Newspapers, consists largely of clippings with vague mention of the Sutherlands, Embro history, and other locations around Zorra. Miscellaneous consists of various odds and ends that didn’t quite fit in with the other records but are still related to the Sutherlands, or the town of Embro.

The item is a handmade fine lace collar that features a Maltese cross pattern. It is laid flat in a gold gilt frame. A handwritten note attached to the back of the frame identifies it as being produced in Nottingham England, and brought to Canada sometime in 1915.

The fonds documents members of the Brown and Bush families and showcases the vibrant lives of the Brown family living in Wilton, Ontario. Included are photographs and textual records of the Hested (Histed or Histes) family, Bell family and over four hundred postcards collected by the Brown family. Fred took great care with the arrangement and description of the photographs in this collection to represent the history of Ernestown, Napanee, Yarker, Wilton and other communities in Lennox and Addington County. The majority of the photographs in the collection were taken and developed by Fred Brown.
