Series consist primarily of press releases from Air Force Headquarters from 1939 to 1964. The first 46 folders are comprised of press releases of various subjects pertaining to the Royal Canadian Air Force from 1939 to 1964. Three other folders contain "Home Town" press releases from 1955-1958 and 1962-1963, dealing primarily with individual promotions and appointments. Other materials include speeches and liaison bulletins from 1959, a Press Release series from 1964 and "News and Views" from 1958 to 1960. "News and Views" was a digest prepared by Public Affairs from various printed sources pertaining to topics in aviation and defence.

Series consist primarily of press releases from Air Force Overseas Headquarters from 1941 to 1946. Volumes 1 through 115 consist of miscellaneous press releases ordered chronologically. Content of these releases include interviews with airmen, reports of brave fighting overseas, commendation announcements, as well as brief biographical sketches. Volumes 116 and 117 are extracts of the Overseas Headquarter Diary consisting of indexes of the press releases. Finally, volumes 118 through 120 concern Second World War RCAF operations in South East Asia, Iceland, and the Middle East.

Fonds consists of a Joint-Service Manual of evasion and escape. The Manual was prepared as a guide to personnel of all three services to assist them in determining their action and conduct should they be forced to evade or to have the misfortune to be captured. The manual includes Volume 1 (chapters 1-14; 8 and 13 are missing). Also includes issues of Evasion and Escape monthly bulletins from 24 May 1949 to 24 February 1950 from Directorate of Intelligence, Headquarters United States Air Force, Department of the Air Force of United States.

Air Ministry fonds

Fonds consists of seven documents: one book and six booklets. The book is entitled titled “Royal Air Force Manual of Army Co-Operation”, is a second edition, and is part of the Air Ministry’s “Air Publication” series [Air Publication 1176]. It deals principally with the work of army cooperation squadrons and kite balloons for 1932, but it also describes such reconnaissance duties as may be carried out by bomber squadrons. Five booklets are indexes to the Air Ministry Confidential Orders (AMCOs) for 1925-1945. They contain confidential records of the regulations and rules pertaining to the administration of the Air ministry at the time, including information on: nomenclature for equipment including aircraft, and radar stations; reclassification of publications; and regulations (2003/52). The final booklet concerns the heraldic insignia, namely badges and mottoes, used by squadrons within the Royal Air Force, the Royal Canadian Air Force and the Royal New Zealand Air Force between 1936 and 1944. Along with a brief description of the badges, the reason for design, the motto and the authority that is associated with the unit, the report provides a detailed foreword discussing the symbolic importance of heraldry within the Armed Forces (75/512).

Fonds consists of material maintained by the Air Transport Board and pertaining to contracts regarding airlifts of supplies to Distant Early Warning (DEW) Line sites for the fiscal years 1958-1971. The files contain information on contracts established with such companies as: CP Air (President - Richard W. Ryan), Federal Electric Corporation, Maritime Central Airways, Northern Construction Co. and J.W. Stewart, Okanagan Helicopters, Pacific Western Airlines , Western Electric Company and Wheler Airlines. A small number of files pertain to airlift operations in Korea. The fonds also contains input from the Air Industries and Transport Association of Canada. Arranged according to a block numeric subject classification system employed by the Air Transport Board. The files have been renumbered.

Series consists of aircraft inventory cards dating from 1925 that were scanned and indexed on compact disks in a project managed by Isabel Campbell in 1996-1997. Each aircraft card may be accessed by aircraft type or by original serial number. The cards recorded such information as service entry date and place, engine type, major repairs and modifications, serial number changes, transfer orders and final disposition. The original inventory cards have been transferred to the Canada Aviation and Space Museum. Enhancement and enlargement of the originals took place so that some illegible portions of the cards may now be read.
