Fonds consists of records which document the administrative functions of the Town of Whitby. Fonds is comprised of the following series: Original By-laws and Council Minutes.
Whitby (Ont.)Series consists of minutes from Town Council meetings of the Town of Whitby and include the adoption and consideration of minutes from committee meetings, particularly relating to key issues such as capital expenditures, community plans and development, transportation, infrastructure, zoning applications, and the approval or rejection of by-laws for the City. Also included are the minutes concerning the amalgamation of the Town of Whitby and the Township of Whitby in 1968.

Whitby (Ont. : Township)The Burwell Family fonds is primarily comprised of the peronal and buisness papers of Hannibal Burwell (1825-1886), his son, Alfred E. Burwell (1871-1943) and his daughter Hannah Alberta Eliza Burwell (1864-1929), later Mrs. David Williams.
•There are 20 related artifacts including two family bibles, a portable writing desk belonging to Hannibal's father, Mahlon Burwell (1783-1846), a prominent surveyor, Justice of the Peace and MLA, Albert Burwell's South Africa War medals and volunteer service medals and a portrait of Mahlon's daughter Louisa Burwell (1818-1834).

This collection is of recordings, photographs, and ephemera related to C.D. Howe, the engineer, contractor, and long-time Member of Parliament and Cabinet Minister. It includes:
Recorded broadcast of Howe interviewed by the Australian Broadcasting Association in 1955
Recordings of a documentary on Howe's life
Letters and clippings on the Howe Committee after Howe's death
Series consists of campaign literature for the 1978 Ontario municipal election, in Mississauga, Brampton, and Caledon.
Coverage is limited by response. For example, while the Town of Caledon mayoral race is covered, Brampton and Mississauga candidates did not submit material. The only school trustees to submit were running in the Separate School campaign.
File consists of campaign literature for Town of Caledon candidates for area council Jack Duggan, and Peel Board of Education trustee candidate Julio Di Cresce. Di Cresce's material refers to the Peel County Board of Education.
Includes clippings and correspondence re: Thomas Marks from his son, George R. Marks; population data solicited from the New York Times; several photographs and photographic prints; and correspondence regarding donation of photographs to the Thunder Bay Historical Museum Society.
