The congregation of St. John's Presbyterian Church in Rodney, Ontario was formed in the 1870s under the guidance of the Rev. J.M. Munroe of Knox Presbyterian Church in New Glasgow. A church in Rodney was built in 1877 and a manse in the late 1880s. The congregation was joined with Knox, New Glasgow until 1925, and then linked with them as a two-point charge until 1961. Since 1961, it has been part of a three-point charge with Knox, New Glasgow and Knox, Kintyre. The congregation voted by a slim majority to remain part of The Presbyterian Church in Canada at the time Church Union in 1925.

Fonds consists of diaries; a book of poems, writings and newsclippings of Hugh MacMillan; a typescript biography of Dr. Gushue-Taylor written by Hugh MacMillan; a newspaper clipping in which Hugh MacMillan talks about Dr. Gushue-Taylor; a short paper entitled "Unmelon-like Rock"; a booklet written by Hugh MacMillan entitled "Youth in a Younger Church". The book was published by the Presbyterian Church in Formosa (Taiwan). The majority of the items in the fonds document Hugh MacMillan’s life and work in Formosa.

Fonds consists of one hand written note from Jonathan Goforth to Mr. McDonald; a sketch book containing transcriptions of inspirational poems and prose collected/written by Rosalind Goforth with illustrations by Mary Goforth Moynan; and, published materials by Jonathan and Rosalind Goforth. The published materials include several books by Rosalind Goforth; a book entitled Miracle Lives of China written by Jonathan and Rosalind Goforth; a pocket-size copy of the New Testament that belonged to Walter Oliver Goforth; a booklet entitled Gospel Triumphs in Manchuria by Jonathan Goforth and Rev. Allan Reoch; and an article by Jonathan Goforth entitled “Why I Believe the Bible is the Word of God” that appeared in the Sunday School Times.

Fonds consists of correspondence, reports, newspaper articles, diaries, school records, and photographs. Records document the life of Louise and Henry Percival Luttrell as missionaries in Honan Province, China, and then as employees of the Peking Syndicate. Correspondence includes letters sent between the Luttrells and their sons while they were at the Boys School in Chefoo; correspondence between Henry Percival Luttrell and the General Board of Missions of The Presbyterian Church in Canada; and letters documenting the Luttrell family’s preparation to return to Canada. Newspaper articles include clippings about Rev. Luttrell as well as articles that he wrote about China for the Presbyterian newspaper "East and West". The fonds also includes a diary kept by Louise Luttrell in 1916, and a daily journal for 1917.

Fonds consists primarily of family correspondence received by Mark Young Stark, and by his daughter, Mary Ann. There are also some letters written by Mark Young Stark, including a number written while he was studying and travelling in Europe as a young man. The letters date from c.1723 to 1917 and are primarily from family and friends. There are journals, notebooks, documents, essays, and newspaper clippings largely related to Mark Young Stark's family and Presbyterianism in Canada. The journals are written by Mark Young Stark from 1829-1831, Mary Bannatyne Stark from 1824, and Mary Ann Stark from 1860-1891. The fonds also includes a published book of sermons written by Mark Young Stark; two small files of receipts and financial documents dating from 1854; two scrapbooks comprised of postcards, pictures, and picture cut-outs, and some original pencil sketches, ink drawings (partially coloured), and small paintings, some of which are signed by Mark Young Stark; and a small case of architect’s tools labelled as being those of Geo. Ed. Street.

John Jennings fonds

Fonds consists of thirty-four sermons written and delivered by John Jennings, as well as a dedication address given at the opening of Bay Street Presbyterian Church in Toronto on December 30th, 1848, and a diary maintained by Jennings while on a trip overseas. Thirty-three of the sermons are hand-written in a version of shorthand which is partly readable, and delivered between 1842 and 1852. The other sermon is a printed booklet of a memorial sermon for Miss Margaret MacDonald, given by Jennings at Bay Street Church, Toronto in 1868. The dedication address given by Jennings at the opening of the church is also in partial shorthand. The diary is of a trip taken by Jennings between May 31st and September 8th, 1873, primarily to Scotland, but also to mainland Europe as well. The diary was written in pencil and is difficult to read. A typescript of the entries in the diary has been created

Proudfoot family fonds

Fonds consists of correspondence, sermons, writings, lectures and notes of both William Proudfoot and John J. A. Proudfoot. The correspondence consists primarily of letters received by both men over the period 1832-1901. The letters document a variety of aspects relating to early church management and administration, and deal largely with official matters and issues relating to both William, and later John's, work as Clerks for the Presbytery of London. The sermons of William Proudfoot date from 1809, but largely cover the period 1820 to 1830, while the sermons of John Proudfoot cover the period 1849 to ca.1900. The fonds also consists of daily journals maintained by John Proudfoot covering the years 1848-1903 (with gaps). The journal entries briefly outline daily aspects of his life such as visitations with members of his congregation, church meetings and functions attended, his professorial work, financial expenditures, and general comments on the weather and home and garden work.
