This accrual consists predominately of textual materials relating to John English's activities in federally-appointed positions after 1997. It also includes materials pertaining his academic research and publication activities. The accrual contains research documentation and drafts of various articles, books and conference papers produced by Dr. English ca. 1979 to 1998. In particular, it includes background research and publication information regarding his two-volume biography of Lester B. Pearson, which was published between 1989 and 1991 as The Life of Lester B. Pearson. In addition, a small volume of material relates to his activities as Member of Parliament including records of his Constituency and Parliamentary Offices. The accrual is arranged in twenty series.

Contents: fonds consists of negatives and proof prints taken by Robert T.G. Nicol under the name of Personal Studio between 1946 and 1996. Studio, home portraits and candid photography of families and weddings, as well as commercial jobs for many local industries and businesses document comprehensively the growth and changes in the way of life in the Waterloo Region in the post-war era. Many nationally important companies employed Nicol, some as their "house photographer": these include B.F. Goodrich, Budd Automotive, Mutual Life Insurance Co., Bell Telephone, Electrohome, Raytheon, IBM and Greb Shoes. Many types of businesses are represented: storefronts and interiors of banks, clothing, department, music, furniture and grocery stores, dairies, factories, restaurants, hotels and motels, churches, service stations, car dealerships, service industries, construction trades and more.

Contents: fonds consists of records accumulated by Marcel Pequegnat in his professional roles as superintendent of the Kitchener Water Commission, vice-chairman of the Grand River Conservation Commission, and president of the Arthur Pequegnat Clock Company; and records collected by him relating to the history of these bodies. Records relating to the Kitchener Water Commission and its predecessor, the Berlin Water Works Company, span from ca. 1887 to 1961, and are mainly from 1898 to the 1930s. Records relating to the Grand River Conservation Commission cover the period from 1939 to 1943. Includes correspondence, contracts and other legal documents, reports, minutes, architectural and technical drawings, photographs and other visual material, press clippings, ephemera, and advertising material.

A single letter to Sir Oswald Stoll from Cyril Joad regarding Stoll's book "The Grand Survival" dated February 16, 1928. The letter is addressed to Stroll at Hampstead in London, England.

Contents: fonds consists of the correspondence of H. Stanley Smart to his family in Grassie, Ontario, written while he was stationed in England during World War II. Includes letters, airgraph letters, postcards, a telegram, and a roll of honour. The correspondence covers Smart's time in Europe from the first letter after his arrival in England (dated December 20, 1942) to the last letter before he sailed back to Canada (dated December 19, 1945), and describes his daily activities, training, social outings, leaves, health, and general news about the war.

Contents: fonds consists of notebooks prepared by K. Mary E. Shaw in her work as a teacher and/or student at Battersea Polytechnic in 1904, for courses on housewifery and laundry work. Notebooks cover all aspects of running an Edwardian household, from scullery, house and parlour work, hygiene, sick nursing, keeping accounts, and laundry work. Includes two volumes.

Contents: accrual consists of material relating to the activities of the Waterloo law firm Haney, Haney, Kendall & Melville under various former names (including MacGachen & Colquhoun, and Colquhoun & McBride), as well as material relating to the family history of some of the firm's members. Includes mostly deeds of land, mortgages, declarations, and correspondence; a will, a marriage contract, a birth registration, an insurance policy, a grant of burial lot, and other documents are also present. Accrual also contains two auction sale posters. Most of the documents were created in the local area, and some were created in England and Scotland.
Several files contain deeds and mortgages for Lot 9 and part of Lot 10 in the village of St. Jacobs, showing transfer in ownership from Levi Cress to Christian Henrich in 1884, through several other parties, to John L. Horst and his wife Selina Horst in 1953. Several files also contain material relating to a Fred Kempf and his property in Elmira. Some of the documents seem to have been retained for their relation to personal or family business of members of the firm.

Contents: fonds consists of material collected by members of the Rieder and Anthes families. Material is mainly related to Ella Anthes' travels in Europe, the Rieder family tree, and Talmon Henry Rieder's career and plans for the Westmount area in Berlin/Waterloo. Includes souvenir guide books, postcards, and other ephemera; family trees; a letter and a plan regarding the Westmount suburb; and other material.

Contents: accrual consists of material documenting aspects of the administration and activities of the Muskoka Lakes Association and some of its committees, mainly during the period from 1978 to 2003. During this time, the primary political and environmental concerns of the association included land use and resort development, taxation, water quality, and relationships with municipal and provincial governments. Accrual contains records created and accumulated by chairs of political, environmental, and land use committees and by several presidents, as well as records relating to office administration and other committees and activities of the association. Contents: accrual consists mainly of moving images, sound recordings, and slides relating to Electrohome, especially public relations, sales and marketing, and advertising, as well as some documenting various aspects of the company's facilities, operations, and history. Accrual also includes materials relating to the administration of Electrohome, and in particular financial reports for the company from 1985-2000 as well as some public relations materials from 1979-1984 and annual reports for the years 1997-1999.

Fonds consists of unpublished typescripts and manuscripts by Robert Alden Sanborn. Influenced by the work of Carl Jung, the unpublished works are predominantly related to Sanborn's interest in the social development of children and several of the drafts consist of narratives about young girls referred to as "Little Anna" and "Bunty". Also included is collected ephemera and correspondence between Sanborn and his family, colleagues and publishing contacts, including his editor Olive Burchfiel (1888-1960), as well as writing by Sanborn's mother, Mary Farley Sanborn, including a published version of "The Valor Ranch" (1914); a typescript version of the poem "My Eighth of May"; and a clipping of the poem "The Barrel-Stave."
