The fonds consists of Frederick F. Schindeler's records as a graduate student, an educator and during his term as Alderman in North York. The material includes minutes, agendas, correspondence, briefs, background material and related items from Borough Council and its committees (Art gallery, Negotiating, Traffic, Works, Conflicts of Interest, Development, Environmental Control, Adjustment), and from the Board of Control and the Library Board. There is material from several of the municipal departments (Building, Clerk's Office, Parks & Recreation, Personnel, Public Health, Public Works, Police), and material from government agencies, federal and provincial, active in the Borough (Department of Consumer and Corporate Affairs-federal, Consumer Affairs and Workmen's Compensation Board-provincial). There is material dealing with housing, including by-laws and zoning regulations for North York and provincial legislation dealing with housing; material dealing with transportation policy and planning, including rapid transit, the proposed Spadina Expressway, transportation studies, and related subjects. There is correspondence with constituents and civil servants dealing with local problems, and correspondence from ratepayers and other local organizations. For his book, 'Responsible government in Ontario,' there are files relating to the methodology employed in the book, illustrations, notes, source materials and bibliography, and general publication files. Also included are personal graduate papers, research notes, correspondence, professorial notes and memorandums. The material in Accession 1972-006 dealing with the North York Council is arranged alphabetically by subject heading (associations, committees, government agencies, transportation). The constituents' correspondence is arranged alphabetically by name while that from associations and organizations is organized separately and then arranged alphabetically.

The fonds consists of notes, photocopies of research materials, course outlines and bibliographies for George Tatham's geography courses offered at York University and the University of Toronto in the fields of political, social and physical geography, as well as notes taken during his student years. In addition, there are glass slides used for teaching purposes. The fonds also includes three audio cassette tapes and typed transcripts of interviews conducted by John Hardy of the York University Archives with Tatham concerning the early years of York University. The interviews were conducted in 1975-1976.

The fonds consists of correspondence, notes, a scrapbook, publications and galley proofs of publications, both by Richard Henry Tawney and by the Workers' Educational Association. For Tawney there are notes on a book about the economic thinker Henry George (which was apparently never written), chapters in typescript and handwritten for 'Equality,' and page proofs for 'Twentieth Century socialism,' as well as articles and reviews (in typescript and handwritten and published) for 'The highwayman,' (publication of the Workers' Educational Association), correspondence with colleagues in adult education and history, and a scrapbook of newspaper clippings with some handwritten correspondence, relating to the Tawney family in England and India. For the Workers' Educational Association there are galleys of articles, and related correspondence for 'The highwayman'. There is also material of a general nature, including reports, correspondence and conference proceedings, and articles related to the education of trade unionists.

Fonds consists of material that documents Tenney's career as an composer, musician and academic and contains personal and professional correspondence with friends and colleagues including copies of letters received from such people as Carolee Schneeman, Steve Reich, Stan Brakhage and Lionel Nowak, among others, as well as correspondence with Bell Telephone Laboratories that documents his efforts in developing programs for computer sound-generation. It also contains records in the form of musical scores, computer outputs, programmes, clippings and sound recordings that document his musical output and material that documents Tenney's ongoing academic and professional interest in the fields of composition, music theory and electronic music, among others. Collection consists of published works including books, journals (articles excerpted from issues as well as runs of serials), Canadian and British government documents, almanacs, gazetteers, directories, and newspapers that describe the social, economic, and legal factors influencing Jewish life in Canada (especially for the period prior to Confederation), the United States, the Caribbean, Europe, Australia and New Zealand. These works include bibliographies, biographies, commemorative publications, local histories and reproductions of primary documents that pertain to Jewish involvement in the trade of the British Empire, migration and settlement, professions such as medicine and education, and studies of the Jewish experience in Canadian and international communities from the 18th to the 20th centuries. Series S00251, Jewish manuscripts, contains original correspondence, financial and legal documents, and research notes by the Godfreys regarding Jewish families in Ontario, Quebec and the Maritimes that provides information regarding their involvement in economic, cultural and political affairs, including the fur trade. The series features 11 letters between John A. Macdonald and George Benjamin, who represented North Hastings as a Member of Parliament between 1856 and his retirement in 1863. Series S00252, Biographical research files, contains the research notes, correspondence, and copies of correspondence, abstracts of land titles and other instruments of ownership, property plans, and wills compiled by Sheldon and Judy Godfrey in preparation to write books on Canadian Jewish history and articles for the "Dictionary of Canadian Biography," as well as speeches to various historical and genealogical societies. The series was arranged by the Godfreys into sections using broad geographical areas (Upper Canada, Lower Canada, and the Maritimes), and then by the names of individuals and families. The fonds consists of two series, the CCMC concert series (1973-199-?) of twice-weekly public performances by members who have included Peter Anson, Paul Dutton, John Kamevaar, Nobuo Kubotu, Allen Mattes, John Oswald, Michael Snow, Casey Sokol, Jack Vorvis. The Music Gallery Concert Series (1978-1993) comprises sound recordings of approximately 65 concerts per year and has involved a wide variety of local and international performers/composers, including all varieties of new music, electroacoustics, world, and jazz. Supporting documentation includes program information, posters, reviews, and photographs. The fonds consists also of financial statements, season reports, contracts, sales reports, publicity material including press release, programs, media contact lists, clippings, photographs and other material related to the activities and the performances of The Music Gallery.
