Fonds consists of material relating to the operation of the International Press Bureau. It is made up of approximately 100,000 letters dating from 1904 to 1953 to and from authors, publishers, agents, film studios, journals, newspapers, etc. concerning the use of articles, stories, and manuscripts.

Accrual consists of material relating to the history, organization and operation of Waterloo Foundation for the Advancement of Computing, Inc. from its foundation in 1974 to 1998. A large portion of the files deal with individual fellowships funded by WATFAC. Includes correspondence, reports, legal documents, financial information, electronic records (computer disks) and photographs.

Contents : consists of two folders of textual material and five group portraits dating from Wes Graham's University of Toronto student days.

Fonds consists of material relating to activities and interests of James Downey from 1963 to 2004. The fonds contains biographical information, manuscripts and typescripts of his published works and speeches, "commonplace books," files relating to his various academic positions, files relating to consulting and advisory work on behalf of provincial governments. Includes appointment calendars, clippings, personal and professional correspondence, ephemera, manuscripts and typescripts, reports and research materials. The fonds consists of one holograph letter from James Panton to Drinkwater (C.P.R.) requesting a pass to travel free during the summer in order to do geological researches, dated April 16, 1884.

Ephemera relating to the Toronto Women's Press Club, [1915?]-1922, information about Jane Larrington's membership in same, 1982, 1986, as well as photographs and ephemera from the 1955 Canadian Women's Press Club "Overseas Tour".

One diary kept by Jane Urquhart from 1974 to 1981, before she began her writing career, and documents primarily several trips to Europe taken with Tony Urquhart. This diary served as a sketchbook, journal and trip diary, and contains drawings and sketches, photographs, ephemera, plant material, etc. Its 258 pages contain 71 sketches, drawings and watercolours including 27 by Tony Urquhart, 32 by Jane Urquhart, 2 by Michael Ondaatje and 10 by other artists.

The fonds consists of seventeen documents relating to the Jardine family, dating from 1797 to 1927, including correspondence, character references, certificates of marriage, articles of partnership, correspondence and one will.

Contents: the Jim and George Guy collection is comprised of materials accumulated by Jim Guy relating to his family home at 110 John Boulevard in the Westmount region of Waterloo. Includes architectural plans and specifications as well as home movies and slides showing the home and surrounding area.

Material primarily focused on Jo Davis' work as co-founder, vice-president, etc., of the Canadian women's group known as the "Voice of Women". Davis was actively involved from 1960 to 1963. The group still exists but Davis is no longer involved.

Included here are correspondence, memos, briefs, speeches and clippings which document the change in focus of the group from its early years--a change which ultimately resulted in Davis' resignation (January 22, 1963). Included on many folders or individual pieces of correspondence are Davis' notes, done in 1990, which reveal a unique perspective of early events.

The fonds also contains groups of papers documenting Davis' interests prior to her work with the Voice of Women (World Refugee Year), projects concomitant with VOW activities (Canadian Peace Research Institute and lnternational Cooperation Year) and projects subsequent to VOW activities (Harold King Farm and French Week). Small amounts of materials relate to Davis' current interests such as The Turnaround Decade Group.

This accrual consists predominately of textual materials relating to John English's activities in federally-appointed positions after 1997. It also includes materials pertaining his academic research and publication activities. The accrual contains research documentation and drafts of various articles, books and conference papers produced by Dr. English ca. 1979 to 1998. In particular, it includes background research and publication information regarding his two-volume biography of Lester B. Pearson, which was published between 1989 and 1991 as The Life of Lester B. Pearson. In addition, a small volume of material relates to his activities as Member of Parliament including records of his Constituency and Parliamentary Offices. The accrual is arranged in twenty series.

The 2010 accrual consists of material relating to John English's personal and professional interests and activities from the early 1960's to 2010. Includes correspondence, manuscripts and research files, records of organizations and political bodies in which he plays a role as well as University of Waterloo teaching files.
