File consists of one bound, handwritten volume of the minutes of the proceedings of Branch 43 of the Canadian Slovak Benefit Society (C.S.B.S.). Outlined in the minutes is the regular business of Branch 43, including the collecting of dues and monetary donations for the C.S.B.S.; discussing and voting on which members in need of financial aid would receive it and if any members were in need of a sick-bed visit or flowers, and the planning of fundraising events such as dances, New Year's Eve parties, Mardi Gras parties, picnics and concerts. The minutes also record the meetings' 'free discussion' period where members could put forward ideas and discuss what was happening with other local C.S.B.S. branches and any events that were happening at the Slovak National House in Sudbury. Other events mentioned include the annual Canadian Slovak Benefit Society Convention; the October 1954 Branch 8 of the C.S.B.S.'s legal action against Branch 43 due to claims that members of their group who left to join Branch 43 stole property from them (this was eventually settled between the branches out of court); guest speakers including the Head Treasurer, Brother Mastan from the Timmins C.S.B.S. on November 15th, 1953 (regarding Branch 43's unity and cooperation with each other) and the annual vote for the new executive committee, which included a Chairman, Secretary, Treasurer and Entertainment Committee.

Gauthier, Denis Landry, E.T. Littlefield, N. Mainville, W. Petersen, and G. Pirie. Conference attendance, teacher upgrading courses, faculty and staff employment, building renovations, supplies, socials, changes in the curriculum, and other topices are discussed. The scrapbook contains telegrams (including one sent via CP [Canadian Pacific Railway Telegram] from Sick Children's Hospital in Toronto to his mother, dated June 14, 1934, which stated "Michael having plaster applied to hips at nine o'clock" and another telegram sent via CN [Canadian National Railway Telegram] from Hospitals Trust in Ireland to M. Dudowick, dated October 26, 1956, which stated he won one hundred pounds sterling from the Irish Hospitals Sweepstake.), newspaper clippings (regarding awards won, courses took and taught, stories worked on including an article written by Betty Meakes, and two obituaries for an A.F. Francis who died in 1986 and an obituary for a Rita Chatherine Stortz who died in 1988), Commercial & Press Photographers' Association of Canada Membership cards, letters and invitations from government officials (including correspondence from Government House, the Darjeeling Mission Service, Nellie Lowe, Thompson Newspapers, John D. Welsh of the Canadian Industries Limited, and J.B. Woodson Jr. of Du Pont), photographs (mostly of Michael Dodowich but one autographed image of Mike Pearson dated October 27, 1948 is also included along with four images of [Betty Meakes]), identification cards, a typed, annotated carbon copy Sudbury Star memo dated May 14th, 1976 announcing the upcoming retirement of Michael Dudowich and Rigo Peloso (Alex Salemink's decision to go out west along with the promotions of Bill Sillanpaa, Brian Gannon, Len Parker, John Young, Jim Duncan, and Murray MacQueen are also mentioned), five postcards to Diane Scagnetti of Garson from Michael Dudowich between 1947 and 1952 (postcards were from Daytona Beach, Florida, Windsor, Ontario, Louisville, Kentucky, Toronto, Ontario, and Miami, Florida) and a 1992 Christmas card from Diane Scagnetti Dellelce stating that she included old postcards sent by Dudowich to her forty and forty-five years prior as a late 65th birthday present.
