Fonds consists of a photograph of the symbolic grave in the Powazki Cemetery in Warsaw, Poland of the Canadian airmen who flew over Poland in August 1944. The grave honours the Royal Air Force’s 148 Squadron; the first flight to drop personnel/supplies to the Resistance workers. There is also an email accompanying the photo and describing the importance of 148 Squadron.

Fonds consists of a paper by Max Reid entitled “Expansion of Canada’s Marine Industrial Base, 1939-1945”. The paper attempts to recognize the magnitude of Canada’s marine industry during the Second World War. It presents Reid’s research and findings and includes statistics and reproductions of photos of Canadian manufactured ships and equipment. Reid’s research draws a relationship between marine industrialization and Canada’s increased role in the Second World War.

Fonds consists of material generated by W.A.B. Douglas during his tenure as Director of History. Major items of interest are the working papers for several official histories, such as the Royal Canadian Air Force (RCAF) volumes, and the Royal Canadian Navy history (RCN); administrative documents from the Directorate of History, and various documents from historical associations and conventions. Fonds consists of material collected by DHH on the Unknown Soldier millennium project. Includes six volumes of Millennium Project files detailing the repatriation of the Unknown Soldier during 1997-2000, and consisting of minutes to meetings, memoranda, correspondence, briefing notes, emails, reports, agenda and various other documents. Also includes 2 volumes of personnel information sheets of the participants in the project, an information kit in French, draft issue of instructions and a draft issue entitled “Operation Memoria The Repatriation of Canada’s Unknown Soldier 23-28 May 2000.” There are also four videocassettes regarding Operation Memoria and the ceremony of 28 May 2000.

Collection consists of photographs accumulated and used by members of the Directorate of History and Heritage (DHH) Naval Team, largely during the research and writing of Volume Two of the Official Naval History of the Royal Canadian Navy (RCN). The majority of the photographs are related to the time period covered in Vol. II, the Second World War (1939-1945). There are also some photographs dating from before and after the Second World War, as well as those used in other publications, particularly The Battle of the Atlantic by Roger Sarty. Also includes photographs used by Marc Milner, a Naval Team member. The collection is arranged chronologically into the 6 series:

Fonds consists of the daily journal of Sgt Charles Langlois, a member of 1 Dental Unit, Detachment Ottawa during his six month tour in Kosovo and Macedonia as part of Operation Kinetic. It records his daily activities in detail and his thoughts and impressions of his surroundings. Fonds includes descriptions of his meals, entertainment, dental procedures that he assisted with and performed, descriptions of local customs, landscapes, and living conditions. There is a journal entry every day for 11 December 1999 - 8 June 2000.

Fonds consists of one compact disk containing the text for “A History of Women in the Canadian Military” and its French edition “Les femmes dans le patrimoine militaire canadien” by Barbara Dundas, as well as 99 photographs. The books were published in 2000 by Art Global. The photos are mostly reproductions from Library and Archives Canada and were used in the books chapters’ I-V. The photos depict women in various military roles throughout the years. Most photos date from the First and Second World War.

Includes a wide variety of documents, including transcripts from Radio Rwanda, general information on Rwanda, diary and notes by Brigadier General Roman Dallaire, briefing notes and situation reports. Collection consists of materials accumulated during the writing, and editing process of the book "No Higher Purpose: The Official Operational History of the Royal Canadian Navy in the Second World War," Volume II Part I: September 1939-April 1943. These documents include English book extracts, administrative documents, correspondence, memos, map transparents and proofs, photocopies of primary sources, and photographs. There are also several files concerning the creation, editing, and translation process for the maps in the book, including the end papers. There are also topical research files compiled by the Naval history team, which include historian-generated lists of ships lost and convoys. The collection is divided into six series:

Fonds consists of material photocopied at the U.S. National Archives, Washington, D.C. (RG 38) which deals mainly with the reports from U.S. Naval Attaché in Canada for the period 1940-1946. Consequently, this fond includes mostly; Intelligence reports issued in Ottawa, London (GB), and Vancouver discussing the situation of the navy in Canada, its war effort in the Pacific, and post-war issues. There is a memo by J.R. Palmer, as well as notes written by Dr. R Sarty. The 11 folders are organized by the registration and file numbers as well as the dates which correspond to the original organization of the papers.

Fonds consists of 40 documents held by the Canadian Forces Maritime Warfare Centre. Includes papers, presentations, correspondence, messages, reports, discussion papers and other documents covering a wide variety of subjects. Some of the major subjects include Operation Friction, the Persian Gulf War, defence of the Canadian Arctic, strategy and anti-submarine warfare. Arranged in numerical order.

Fonds consists of materials documenting Canada's general experiences in peacekeeping missions, particularly with Canada's participation in United Nations Transition Assistance Group (UNTAG) -- Namibia, in 1989-1990 as well as material documenting issues of change and renewel taking place in the Canadian Armed Forces in the mid-1990s. The main types of records included are reports from the United Nations on different aspects of UNTAG, minutes from the Canadian Senate and House of Commons as well as other documents emanating from different federal departments, including many branches of the Department of National Defence. There are also published documents from a variety of periodicals and North-American newspapers and monographs. Many of these newspaper articles, as well as various theses, are on microfiches. Fonds consists of material documenting Jean-Pierre Gagnon's research on Canadians in the First World War. Includes transcripts from interviews that Gagnon conducted in 1983 with First World War Royal 22e Régiment veterans, Canadian Expeditionary Force files used for his research, and photocopies from the National Archives of Canada of the military records of soldiers and officers who were in the Canadian Expeditionary Force (CEF). Also includes miscellaneous pamphlets and publications, military training manuals published by the Dept. of National Defence in the 1970s and in 1991, and chronological accounts of French-Canadian units during the Second World War. Fonds consists of a Canadian Task Force Aviano Post Air Campaign Report on Operation Allied Force. Includes comments by the Commander and the Detachment Commander. The reports concerned the Canadian Force's participation in the NATO air campaign over the Balkans. It was drafted with the intent of rapidly identifying and communicating the difficulties encountered by Task Force Aviano.

Fonds consists of presentation notes by Richard P. Hallion entitled “The Gulf Air War: A Survey”. Fonds provides an overview of the Persian Gulf War, which includes aspects such as the planning of the war, targets, air deployment and Iraqi military capabilities. It also illustrates the types of weapons that were used during the war. In the last several sections, it discusses the accomplishments of the air war, its impacts on the Iraqi army and the number of casualties on both sides.

Fonds consists of records created and maintained by the Land Forces Command Board of Inquiry investigating the Command, Control and Leadership of CANBAT 2.
