Toronto General Hospital. Office of the PresidentSub-series consists of annual statistics pertaining to admissions and discharges, births and deaths, operations and anaesthetics at the TGH. Admission and discharge statistics are classified by hospital building and by patients’ age, place or residence and religion.
Toronto General Hospital. Medical Records DepartmentSub-series consists of correspondence, chiefly letters of request and approval for expenditures from the Hospital’s annual Special Capital Grant allocation. Much of the correspondence involves the Office of the Superintendent and the Ontario Hospital Services Commission, Hospital Grants Division, the body responsible for administering the Special Capital Grants allocated to Ontario hospitals on an annual basis. Series consists of financial statements for various TGH departments which were accumulated by TTH Finance Department.
Sub-series consists of copies of the TGH disaster plan as revised in 1958, 1962, 1967 and 1972. Maintenance, revision and distribution of the disaster plan was the responsibility of the Medical Director/ Assistant Superintendent, Medical under the title “Disaster Coordinator.”

Office of the Assistant Superintendent, MedicalSub-series consists of various materials relating to the ceremonies opening the new TGH Neurosurgical Unit in the Center Block Building (Norman Urquhart Wing) November 8, 1958. File 22.3.1 contains a commemorative booklet edited by Dr. T.P. Morley containing a transcription of speeches; a bibliography of the papers of Dr. K.G. McKenzie; and a description of the Unit, illustrated by drawings. File 22.3.2 contains a sound recording (audio-cassette tape) of speeches delivered during the opening ceremonies, as recorded by Dr. R. Tasker: duration of the recording is approximately 55 minutes. File 22.3.3 contains a program of the opening ceremonies.

File 4.15.1 contains summary minutes of meetings of the Medical Advisory Board October 1960 to November 1966, prepared for the information of the TGH Board of Trustees.
Toronto General Hospital. Medical Advisory BoardSeries consists of programs for the League’s annual banquets (1961-1974), a rule book (1974), and posters containing information about the history of bowling and of the League, and about the trophies awarded to League members.
Toronto General Hospital. Bowling LeagueSub-series consists of three versions of the TGH Manual of Policies and Procedures. The manuals were created for the information of Hospital managers and staff and contain administrative summaries of major Hospital departments and services, indexed alphabetically. Dates of creation for the manuals are uncertain since they contain mostly undated materials and were used for several years with frequent accruals of new material interfiled with original materials.

Office of the PresidentSeries consists of the MSA articles of agreement (July 1 1966, with amendments created in 1967 and 1968 tipped in) containing the signatures of the original members of the Association; correspondence of the President/Executive Director of the MSA, chiefly with officials representing similar associations in other Canadian hospitals; and a file of background papers by Dr. T.P. Morley outlining the history and development of the MSA 1963-1968.
Toronto General Hospital. Medical Staff AssociationSub-series consists of various materials relating to the publication of Dr. W.G. Cosbie’s history of the TGH: The Toronto General Hospital 1819-1965: A Chronicle Toronto: MacMillan, 1975. Dr. Cosbie contracted with the TGH Board of Trustees, through the Office of the President, to research and write the history. The Office of the President managed the editing and publication process. Copyright in the work belongs to the Toronto General Hospital.
Files 2.29.1 to 2.29.3 contain correspondence with Dr. Cosbie, editors, publishers’ representatives and others. Materials include a contractual agreement with MacMillan of Canada Ltd., reports by various editorial readers, and promotional materials.
File 2.29.4 contains editorial corrections made by Dr. Cosbie [1974?]. File 2.29.5 contains research notes and copies of various documents used by Dr. Cosbie. Files 2.29.6 to 2.29.9 contain the corrected typescript delivered by Dr. Cosbie to the Office of the President in November 1972.
