Fonds consists of records created or accumulated by Armour Adamson Miller and his son, Alexander John Miller.

Included is correspondence, predominantly from Armour Miller to his wife, Helen B. Miller and their children while Miller was stationed at Witley Training Camp in Surrey, England during World War I. These letters contain details of military training and combat. Also included is a regimental history of the military group of which Armour Miller was commanding officer: the 134th Battalion of the Canadian Expeditionary Force (C.E.F.) (48th Cameron Highlanders). Other correspondence includes letters exchanged between Alexander J. Miller (known as Bill) and his mother while he served in World War II.

Other military-related textual records include a certificate issued to Armour Miller on February 3, 1903 by England's Minister of Militia Defence on behalf of King Edward VII, appointing Miller to the rank of Officer in the 48th Cameron Highlanders; programmes for the unveiling of monuments honouring those who died in World War I at Harbord Collegiate Institute, and at Bonar Presbyterian Church in Toronto, Ontario; a request to the Director of Graves Registration and Enquiries for a photograph of Armour Miller's grave; and a discharge certificate for Alexander Miller.

In addition, the fonds contains etchings with watercolour, created by Georges Plasse, showing the Canadian National Vimy Memorial in France.

Other records include photographs of the Miller family and unidentified Ontario lakes and landscapes. The fonds contains an album with photographs of unidentified landscapes and unidentified people engaged in various activities, such as skiing. Also included is a (dismantled) album of photographs showing people and scenes from trips to Temiscamingue Lake (1901), Sand Lake (1907), and Peninsular Lake (1907). Other photographs show an outdoor painting excursion.

Also included is a certificate issued in 1942 to Alexander John Miller by the Brighton School of Art for completion of a course in camouflage and field sketching, and a log book created by Armour Miller, documenting trips to Temiscamingue (August 1901), Algonquin Park (1904 and 1908), and Sand Lake (1907).

The fonds also contains postcards with images of the following individuals or scenes: the family of Olive (Foster) Robinson outside a home at 48 Dufferin Street, Toronto; a school group in May 1926, including Alexander Miller; a postcard showing the 134th Battalion of the C.E.F.; postcards depicting scenes of Taormina in Sicily, Italy; and a postcard with a fabric image of a burning Saint Roch Church in Armenti鳥s, France in 1916.

Robert Maitland Roy fonds

Fonds consists of 22 family letters written between Robert Maitland Roy, his mother Isabella Roy, and his sister, Catherine. Letters concern Roy's life in Upper Canada while he was stationed Fort George in Niagara on the Lake, and his family's life in Scotland.

Charles Irvine held custody of these records until his death in 1981 when they were transferred to his son, Penny Vernon.

Also included is a typed manuscript for a book written by Dr. Campbell that consists of biographical sketches of physicians in Waterloo County from 1824 to 1924.

Records include information concerning the June - December 1968 strike of Local 289, International Brotherhood of Pulp, Sulphite and Paper Mill Workers against Kimberly-Clark of St. Catharines, Ontario.

Also included are minutes of the conciliation meetings, correspondence, and newspaper clippings of the strike, and the strike between the same two parties in July of 1971.

Fonds consists of textual records created or accumulated by Archibald O. Lampman, son of the Canadian poet, Archibald Lampman. Records include a volume containing photomechanical reproductions of cartoons drawn by Archibald O. Lampman, titled Royal Military College, [Kingston, Ontario] and Memoirs of Stanley Barracks and the Royal Canadian Dragoons, 1915-1917. Also included are two volumes of genealogical records about the Lampman family, compiled by the Reverend Ernest Voorhis in 1920. One volume is titled The Ancestry of Archibald Lampman, Poet, and the other is titled Genealogical Record of the Lampman Family in Canada.

Fonds consists primarily of architectural drawings created by William B. Crane. Also included is research material and other records accumulated by Crane in his capacity as a carpenter.

Other records include colour lithographs; a drawing and photographs of Roman ruins, including a photograph of the Colosseum; a copy of An Illustrated Catalogue of Church Furniture Manufactured by Jones and Willis, published in London, United Kingdom; a St. Lawrence Starch Company calendar page featuring an image of the Dionne quintuplets; a supplement to the December 1910 edition of the National Builder magazine, with architectural plans for the Washington Apartment House No. 2; various magazine clippings; and a proposal by Crane to the Gurney Foundry Company Limited for a warm air heating apparatus to be installed in Craneӳ residence at 118 Salem Avenue, Toronto.

The fonds includes Crane's architectural plans of the Acme Daily Building on Essex Avenue in Toronto, Ontario, as well as architectural plans of residences or structures for George Groves of the Township of York, and Better Homes Limited, Philip Dove, R.W. Dockeray, T.L. Guy, and T.B. James of Toronto. Architectural plans for other, unidentified houses are also included.

The fonds also contains architectural drawings and technical studies created by Crane while he attended the Toronto Technical School, and drawings by Crane showing a detail of a fireplace in a house for A.J. Mackie, a design for a mission chair, and a detail of a door and mantel.

Two of the paintings are aerial views of Chorley Park and Government House in Toronto, Ontario. Fonds consists of architectural and technical drawings created and accumulated by Arved Soosaar as an employee of Principal Investments Limited and as an independent architect. Fonds also includes architectural drawings created by Soosaar's students in the architecture program at Ryerson Polytechnical Institute.

Buildings depicted in the fonds include shopping centres, strip malls, low-rise apartment and office buildings, hotels, and residential buildings. The projects are mainly in the Toronto area with some located elsewhere in Southern Ontario. Projects include: shopping centres in Thistletown, Streetsville, Whitby, Scarborough, Cooksville, Brockville, and Smiths Falls; Ryerson Polytechnical Institute's City Hall Campus (Toronto); offices for Carswell Company Limited (Toronto) and Patterson Springs (Etobicoke); and the International Airport Hotel (Toronto), among others.

John Black Aird fonds

Fonds consists of records created and accumulated by John Black Aird.

The majority of the records document Aird's activities as Lieutenant Governor of Ontario from 1980 to 1985. These records include: 32 scrapbooks documenting official visits and ceremonies. Of these, 27 scrapbooks contain a chronological compilation of newspaper clippings. Later clippings are carefully marked as to the source newspaper and date, whereas earlier ones are not consistently labelled. Interspersed throughout these scrapbooks are photographs, some of which appear in the newspaper clippings. Four (4) other scrapbooks contain photographs, not all of which are identified. In many instances the photographer is unknown, although some photographs are marked or have an accompanying letter identifying the photographer. The last scrapbook is entitled A Royal Celebration and documents the visit of the Queen to Ontario in 1984.

The remaining records document Aird's activities as Senator (1964-1974), Chancellor at Wilfred Laurier University, Chairman of the Institute for Research on Public Policy, and meeting of the Permanent Joint Board on Defence (PJBD). These include: 2 photo albums, and 2 scrapbooks of which one contains the Debates of the Senate which documents speeches made by Aird as a member of the Senate.
