This series contains a hand-written account of the history of the Baden Public Library from its Nineteenth Century beginnings to its takeover by the County of Waterloo in 1967. The history was written by Mrs. John Stiefelmeyer, one of the volunteers who ran the library, with a long section about sixties provided by the former volunteer librarian, Mrs. Clayton Selyer. The history book also has a brief photo album at the rear, showing photographs of the volunteer run library.

This series consists of hand and typewritten notes that detail the history of the Blenheim-Dumfries Farm Women's Club. These papers were written by members over the course of many years. Some of the papers deal with the years since the founding in 1920 to (what was then) present day, with another set picking up afterward, while later papers offer whole histories of the Club (generally drawing on the papers that were written earlier). In total (with some repetition between papers written by different hands), the history of the club from its beginning in 1920 to the Fiftieth Anniversary in 1970 are covered. This history includes how the club was created, the members of various boards, the nature and scope of their activities and what their members were getting up to.

Insurance Policies

This series consists of insurance policies taken out by the Ayr Public Library between 1911 and 1962. These policies were taken out with several different companies, including the Wellington Mutual Fire Insurance Company and the Gore District Mutual Fire Insurance Company. This series contains both full fire insurance policies issued when a new policy was created, as well as the smaller renewal certificates issued whenever the Library continued an existing policy. The Library had several different policies taken out at the same time, with one policy to insure the building and another to insure the books and the furniture. Series is arranged chronologically.

The fonds consists of negatives created by John Allen Elbridge Ivison Thackeray while he lived in Waterloo County. The images include a variety of subjects: people; the Royal visit to Kitchener on June 6, 1939; a tank parade; camping; buildings; the beach at Owen Sound; and objects.

Fonds consists of records created by Daniel Heisey (1914-1924), Mrs. Louise Heisey (1924-1931), Norm Helmuth (1931-1938) and Ernie Ronnenberg (1938-1977), who were observers for the Meteorological Service Office and later the Meteorological Division of the Federal Government of Canada. Records include meteorological registers, climatological registers, instructions and maximum/minimum temperature log sheets. Fonds is comprised of the following series:

This series contains materials relating to the history of the Kitchener-Waterloo area as collected by the Ayr Branch of the Region of Waterloo Public Library. The series consists of several publications about the history of Waterloo County, the City of Kitchener and the City of Waterloo, a play titled "Himmel", written by an area local in 1973, a photograph of Cambridge MP Janko Peric and a set of newspapers dating between 1867 and 2014, including the Elmira Signet, the Cambridge Daily Reporter and the Waterloo Record. The newspapers include articles on various events of local significance, most notably the Cambridge Flood of the 1970s. Series is arranged chronologically.

Marvin C. Smith fonds

The Marvin C. Smith fonds consists of photographs and textual records related to Marvin Smith's family history and the history of St. Jacobs, Ontario. Featured are photographs of the Oscar J. Smith Shoe Store which operated in St. Jacobs from ca. 1898 - 1950. Several of the photographs in the Marvin C. Smith fonds were featured in Virgil Emerson Martin's book "The Early History of Jakobstettel" (1979). The book provides contextual historical information about the Smith family and items featured in the fonds.

Marvin Carl Smith was born on February 24th, 1910 in Waterloo County, Ontario and passed away in 2000. His parents were Oscar John Smith (January 1st, 1879 - June 1963) and Clara (Cress) Smith (June 24th, 1878 - October 12th, 1969). Oscar John Smith owned and operated the Oscar J. Smith Shoe Store in St. Jacobs, Ontario. The store was established in 1898, renovated in 1906 and served the community until the 1950's.

This series consists of the papers that members would read out at the weekly meetings of the Ayr Travel Club. To faciliate their goal of studying the different countries of the world, the Travel Club would assign each member a topic on the country they were studying for a certain year. Each meeting would cover one of those topics and would be held at the home of the member that was presenting.

This series contains a set of minute books from the Blenheim-Dumfries Farm Women's Club meeting between 1920 and 1981. These minutes detail what happened at each meeting of the Club, including number of members present, elections to the executive, resolutions made by the members, monies raised by fundraiser, events and activities planned, entertainments had and other pieces of interest. The minute books generally have membership lists and financial records at the end of the book, showing revenues and expenditures for the years covered in that volume. The final volume has a history of the Club for the years 1970 to 1980. Though this volume is the latest one available, there is no indication that the Club was planning to disband, so the year of the club's dissolution (if any) is unclear. This series contains the minutes and financial records of the Townline Community Club from 1933 to 1964. The minutes contain records of the motions reached by the Club, the entertainment provided at each meeting and the events of each meeting. At the rear of each minute book are several pages of financial records corresponding to the years covered by the minutes at the front of the book. The financial records list expenditures and revenues chronologically for each November to April "season" of the club. Series is arranged chronologically.

This series contains the minute books of the Ayr Women's Hospital Aid Association, detailing the nature of their quarterly meetings, along with the results of their fund raising, what the funds were spent upon, what they planned to do in the future and the election of the executive. Typical minutes note who attended, motions voted upon, amounts raised since the last meeting, news from the Ontario Hospital Association (the mother organization) and notes on the entertainments provided for that meeting.

The Association was founded in 1927, which is when the minutes begin, and in March of 1956 the decision was made to reduce the Association to two meeting a year due to declining attendance. The minute book, although less than half filled, stops there, with no evidence for any meeting after March of that year. Series is arranged chronologically.

This series consists of the Minute Books kept by the Ayr Travel Club. Each meeting of the club is recorded, and the records state who attended, where the Club met, what was discussed, as well as comments on the Hostess' refreshments and the talk that was given. The minutes indicate that the Travel Club met weekly between the months of October and March, before adjourning for the Spring and Summer months. The series is arranged chronologically.

Mock Trial Vows

This series consists of a set of humorous vows used during mockwedding events held by the Ayr Senior's Club. A mock wedding was a humorous (and often bawdy) parody of a wedding party often used for funding raising purposes. The wedding vows used by the Ayr Seniors Club refer to an "awfullly wedded life" and name the bride and groom as Phyllis Diller and Archie Bunker, respectively, which give some idea of the tone of the performance.
