The fonds consists of operational and commemorative records related to Cullen Gardens and Miniature Village. Many operational records were created as Leonard Cullen and other staff developed and advertised the organization's site in Whitby, Ontario. Commemorative records preserve views of the site's grounds, seasonal displays, building interiors, and events. Additionally, the fonds contains some personal records from Leonard Cullen, most of which pertain to his involvement in the Baptist Convention of Ontario and Quebec and the Baptist Leadership Education Centre in Whitby. The fonds consists of four series: Site Maintenance and Expansion; Personal Writings and Baptist Community Involvement of Leonard Cullen; Promotions; and Photographs.

The John Doerr fonds documents Doerr’s professional life as a musician, composer, music producer, and administrator. The completeness of the files not only highlights Doerr's accomplishments and activities, but they also depict the path of the group CANO musique.

Composed of the files of the various administrators of CANO musique, namely John Doerr, André Paiement, and Gary McGroarty, the files cover the legal aspect of managing a music group and its financial administration. The files thus deal with promotion, production of concerts and LPs, and the creation of music and lyrics, and range from Doerr’s early involvement with the group CANO musique to the group’s dissolution and the subsequent founding of Majoma Music.

The John Doerr fonds not only attests to Doerr’s different roles, creations, and achievements within CANO musique but it also provides an overview of the different administrative and managerial aspects of a music group during the time period of 1975 to 1985. Moreover, the fonds documents the different processes, procedures, and interactions with records companies, as well as marketing and promotional strategies in those years.

John Doerr’s role as administrator of CANO’s financial records is well documented in the fonds. Doerr took over the responsibility of the accounts after André Paiement’s passing, at which time the records of 1975-1978 were transferred to him.

The financial records consist mostly of bank statements, budgets, expenditures, expenses and incomes, correspondence, and monthly royalty statements. The files provide insight into the operating cost for concerts and touring, as well as the cost associated with activities such as recording, rehearsals, buying instruments, and insurance payments. The files also attest to group’s organising and functioning as a cooperative. While the monthly statements for the royalties list each song and the amount received for each, it also indicates the popularity of their songs in a specific time frame. Some of the correspondence informs us on the contracts and agreements with recording companies, touring and festival organisations and on applications/bids to be part of festivals like the Ontario Bicentennial tour or representing Canada in Japan. It also attests to bids for different services they offered like staging, sound equipment, and music production.

The creation aspect is documented by the music scores, lyrics and correspondence which inform us more specifically on John Doerr as a musician, composer and producer. Indeed, music scores of many of the CANO songs – some with notations – provide insights on the process of collective creation of the music and lyrics and also on the translation of the lyrics. While some music scores are specifically for the parts of bass guitar, some are film scores. Doerr and Aymar composed music and produced the scores for films, as well as theme songs for programs like Légalement parlant or Great Movies (CityTV). A rough draft of video shooting images with notes to synchronize the music depicts part of the process for this type of composition. Also included are some texts of introductions of members of the group used during concerts, with notations on music to be played, the mood, and even the staging of the musicians. The fonds also contains some of Doerr’s diaries with notes on the rehearsals, tours and daily activities.

Many files document projects undertaken by the group after their dissolution. While not all projects were carried out, the fonds contains extensive documentation and correspondence on certain projects, such as agreements for the production of the CANO album The Millennium Collection: The Best of/Les Meilleurs Succès CANO, and the different agreements with all the partners in the realization of the project. Transcriptions of interviews with some of the members of CANO who talk of their time with the group and different events can also be found in the files on “CANO project,” as well as correspondence from fans, and pictures taken by fans during CANO concerts.

The fonds also contains Gary McGroarty’s files, who was the manager of the group. He turned these files over to John Doerr when he left the group. These files consist mostly of contracts with recording companies, the legal documents on the ownership of copyright for CANO songs and also for the different concerts. Membership, registration, payments made to different associations and unions as well as correspondence with these organizations are also found within those files. Some scheduling for rehearsals and traveling are also included. Marketing and promotional materials consisting of correspondence, opinions sent to specialized magazines, newspapers, press kits and also promotional materials such as cards, posters, letterhead with the official CANO logo illustrate some of the different marketing strategies used by the group.

Margaret Phillips began her career in municipal recreation, and became an advocate and activist for feminist and social justice issues. She was a founder of the Northern Woman's Bookstore, an executive director of the Lakehead Social Planning Council, and on the board of directors of Inter Pares, among other work.

Fonds is comprised of correspondence, published articles, photographs, slides, and CDs of speeches, interviews, and meetings pertaining to the career of Don Tapscott.

The fonds documents D. McCormack Smyth's career as an administrator both in private corporation and in academic institutions as well as his teaching activities in administration for the period 1947-1986.

This fonds consists of invoices and correspondence (1887) between Robert Everard Moore and Whitford Vandusen concerning family and business matters, and of 14 journals (1884-1899) concerning Whitford Vandusen's private banking business in Tara, Ontario. The journal books are entitled "bills discounted paid", "discount diary" and/or "collection diary". The journals include information about amounts paid and the places of residence of the individuals listed.

This fonds consists of financial records, ships logs and Crown land patents created by and/or belonging to Captain John Spence and his sons, reflecting some of their personal and business dealings.

Fonds consists of newspapers, photographs, financials, and personal documents relating to the professional and private lives of Carl Mantz, including his wife Elizabeth Gibson. Included in the fonds are records pertaining to the purchase and maintenance of the Whitby Weekly News building, correspondence and letters regarding his enlistment in the RCAF, programs and background information for the Ten Centuries concerts, and the meeting minutes for his initiatives concerning Whitby senior citizens. Of particular interest are the newspaper photographs which represent various events, people, and places of Whitby in the 1950s and 1960s. The fonds is composed of the following series: Elizabeth G. Gibson records, 1969; Personal records, 1931-1980; Community Involvement records, 1962-1975; Financial records, 1938-1971; Clippings; and Photograph 1950s-1960s.

Material contained in the Rexe fonds spans the years 1969 to 2005 with the bulk of material dating from 1979 to 1991. The collection contains materials pertaining to Rexe’s personal and professional matters, including material from his election campaigns beginning in the late 1970s to his work on Peterborough City Council 1980-87 and later 2003-06. The collection contains much correspondence, City Council memoranda and meeting agendas, planning documentation and reports, news clippings, personal notes, PCG reports and studies, court transcripts, legal invoices, and more.

The collection is organized into four series, Series B and C comprising the bulk of the collection.

Series A contains materials related to Rexe’s early teaching years and career(s) before re-entering politics in the 1980s.

Series B contains materials from his years on City Council 1980-87, and is the largest and most extensive part of the collection.

Series C gathers materials pertaining to his legal matters, particularly Kazowski vs. Rexe (see biographical note, below); and finally,

Series D contains materials from his later career(s), including his planning and consulting work (with Public Consulting Group, Inc.), his years teaching at Kenner Collegiate and Crestwood Secondary schools, his graduate work at Trent University, and his return to city politics in the early 2000s.

Consists of records about the Laskay Emporium which was bought from the Blacks by the Arbuckles about 1947 and donated to Black Creek Pioneer Village about 1960.

Fonds consists of various papers created and collected by the family and descendants of Nathan Choate, 1817-1975. It documents the history of members of the family, as well as local buildings, churches, businesses, and the history of the Municipality of Port Hope.

The fonds consists of records related to Paul Edell's business and community activities. Included is business and synagogue correspondence, property documents, certificates and a ledger book.

This fonds contains eleven folders. The first folder consists of genealogy records, family records and ephemera. This folder contains: a list of the births and deaths of members of the Bickford family from 1795 to 1877; three lists regarding deaths of Bogart family members David D. and Emma Virginia; the marriage certificate of David D. Bogart and Harriet Bickford from 1845 in Oswego, New York; hair samples of David D. Bogart, Harriet A. Bogart, and Emma V. Bogart; Harriet Bogart's account book with the Bank of Montreal; religious ephemera; and one unattributable piece of paper.

The second folder contains correspondence from 1868 to 1898. The addressed parties in these letters are: David D. Bogart, Harriet A. Bogart, W.D. Smith, J. Bickford, M.W. Forward, A.J. [Northrupe], John Bell, A.L. Bogart, Alexander Robertson, C.W. Bell, Alexander Robinson, [M.D.] Smith, E. Guss Porter, R. Richardson, W.R. Richardson, [G.] Mollison, and Y.B. Couch.

The third folder contains property records. It consists of: of a mortgage with dower and power of sale between John Canniff Phillips and Albert L. Smith; an indenture of bargain and sale between John Canniff Phillips and Anna Cornelia Phillips; a deed of land between Hester Morden and D.D. Bogart; a deed from the Oswego Rural Cemetery Association to Warren D. Smith and Harriet A. Bogart; six copies of the notice of exercising the power of sale between Harriet Bogart and William Henry Melburn; the original and a copy of a re-mortgage between [W.H.] Melburn and [Nancy] Garrison; a bill of costs for the power of sale from Harriet Bogart to Sexsmith; and a slip indicating a mortgage between Harriet Bogart and Wallace.

The fourth folder contains insurance information. Included in this folder are receipts and policies between Harriet Bogart and the Royal Insurance Company, a receipt from The Liverpool & London & Globe Insurance Company to Harriet Bogart after a sum was payed by J. Wallace, and a slip indicating that a new roof was put on a property that Harriet Bogart owned from T.C. Lazier to the Royal Insurance Company.

Following this, folder five contains legal papers and records relating to various estates. It includes: a description of the results and potential penalties from an unknown case from 1876; a receipt issued from J.H. Mitchell indicating that an account had been settled after the death of D.D. Bogart in 1878; a receipt from the Riverside Cemetery in New York from Edwin Bell; a receipt from a settled account after the purchase of a monument and a headstone at Riverside Cemetery, Oswego, New York; the estate of the William [Winsby]; two receipts from the Oswego Rural Cemetery Association indicating that an account had been paid regarding the upkeep and maintenance of the Bogart and Smith burials; and a bill of costs relating to the estate of Harriet A. Bogart.

The sixth folder contains Bogart family stock information. It includes information relating to D.D. Bogart's stock holdings with the Grand Junction Railroad. Folders seven, eight, and nine contain numerous receipts from merchants and vendors including those in Belleville, Oswego, New York, and elsewhere.

The tenth folder contains papers relating to an 1874 Sheriff's sale of D.D. Bogart's goods. The twelfth folder contains two copies of an article from the Thursday, January 13 edition of the Daily Intelligencer recounting the experiences of A.L. Bogart in the city of Belleville. The folder also contains two copies of an article written by Billa Flint to the Daily Intelligencer disputing the claims of Bogart on January 17, 1881.

The fonds contains the papers of John S. Turnbull of Belleville, Ontario. Enclosed in the first file is a description of the property of a Mr. Forrin; a notice instructing Mr. Turnbull to pay Mr. James Anderson eleven pounds, ten shillings by Mr. James Turnbull; and a description of the west side of Front Street. The second file consists of items relating to Turnbull's estate including a list of properties he owned, a list of personal effects, the last will and testament of Margaret Campbell, the first and final wills of John Turnbull, and documents pertaining to a dispute over his estate by his family after his death, there is also a map of mineral reserves in Marmora. The third file is composed of various real estate contracts, the fourth file consists of real estate deeds, while the fifth file is made up of real estate leases.

The fonds consists of Dr. Vanarsdale Blakslee's personal and medical business receipts between the years of 1915 and 1940. There are receipts for medical supplies, tax receipts, and personal receipts such as household bills and car repairs. Many of the medical supply invoices are for products shipped by mail from Toronto or Montreal. Some of these companies in Toronto include: J.F Hartz Co. Limited, Ingram & Bell, Ethical Drug Products Limited, and from Montreal Frank W. Horner Limited, Manufacturing Chemists. The majority of the receipts are from local businesses in Belleville and surrounding areas such as: F.W Jeffery Harware Merchant, Midland, Ontario, F.S Anderson Co. Genuine Scranton Coal, W.H Lattimer Druggist Belleville, Sprague the Cleaner, Greenleaf's Garage Machine Shop Foundry Electrical Contractors, R. Oliphant & Son Butchers, McLaughlin Motor Car Company, Quinte Bicycle Store, The Belleville Pharmacy, E.D Finkle Electrical Contractor, J.S McKeown The Prescription Druggist, Porter, Butler and Payne Barristers, Solicitors Notaries Public etc. The Belleville Vulcanizing Co. J.T Warren Chevrolet Garage, Ed. F. Dickens & Son Bakers and Confectioners, Smith Hardware, Chas J.
